I believe the population is more educated. The issue you and others have is that academia is mostly controlled with a feminist and liberal ideology.

Conservatives tend to do more practical majors or simply work blue collar. This means they are not in the hot seat of greater academia enough to control what gets taught.

I'm saying your problem is with the ideology, the education not withstanding.
