If Lebron plays better throughout the series, they win.
THIS I mean this is LeBron James we're talking about here not Charles Smith

but he was either the first or second best player in the world at that juncture - him putting up single digit points in a Finals game that came down to the wire was a huge deal.
EXACTLY I mean teams constructed entire defenses to take away Bird, Magic, Isiah, Kobe, MJ's effectiveness and they still motored away, LeBron just melted down because he's not as mentally driven as those guys, he's always reinforced because of his high school status, it is what it is

Good job? How kind of you.
What could he have done to make it an all-time great performance in your opinion?

His first 3 Finals vs the Warriors are on par with MJ's best (92-93) on an individual level.
What? His teams lost 2 of those 3 Finals, stats don't carry that much weight unless they translate to wins or at least competitive games as was the case with Rick Barry's outmanned Warriors in the 67 Finals, the Warriors blew the Cavs out most of those games

Lebron dragging shitty teams to The Finals in the East ....well, he was dragging garbage past garbage.
MJ was slugging it out against the likes of the 80s Celts and Pistons. The East was not garbage then. The Lakers had the free rides to The Finals.

Early 80s....Big 3 Bird Parish McHale against Magic Worthy Kareem.
It was just unreal.
Nothing new...but, man, those were the days.

He didn't get past those teams until both got old. The Celtics and Pistons didn't so much as make a conference Finals after the Bulls rose to prominence.

It was similar to when Kobe quit in that Phoenix series that everyone magically forgets when they talk about their killer mentality.
So we are going to conveniently forget about when Lebron quit in the game 5 against the Celtics in 2010? Since we are on the subject of quitting

I DEFINITELY know about him quitting there next to quitting on the Lakers last season when his Davis trade failed

No he didn't, the Jordan Rules was predicated on getting the ball out of MJ's hands and he was surrounded by 3-4 Pistons (all elite defenders btw) that entire game per Sam Smith's Jordan Rules, it was what it was but I'll never accuse him on "quitting" on his team there, that's patently dumb.
Only attempting 8 shots in the ECF when its tied 2-2 when the winner of game 5 wins the series almost at an 80% clip.
He
Gtfoh. He lacked that killer mentality. He was passive and his team lost and would go on to lose in 6 games. He was also outplayed by the Isaiah Thomas in the close out game 6. Isaiah dropped 30 + to send his arse home.

Was confirmed by the Jordan Rules book and those defenders weren't scrubs, it is what it is

LOL complete lie

He was passive
So passive he scored the winning shot in game 3 to stake his team a 2-1 series lead and all he did that series gimme a break not to mention the Pistons were a superior team overall

If you ignore everything before or after that game sure.

Kobe did quit that game, no getting around it, but he used that as fuel and motivation to improve himself in the coming years and he did by leading the Lake Show to 3 straight Finals and 2 straight championships
Did he have the killer mentality in game 6 in the 2008 Finals when he lost by 40 fricking points?
Looked like he laid down and quit. I remember him letting a young Rondo D him up and make him uncomfortable and he just quit when it got too tough.
He only won those 2 rings because the Celtics weren't healthy. Be honest. They were clearly a better team than the Lakers when healthy, hence the 40 pt beat down.

Hahaha this is sad. You LeBron babies are feeling vulnerable right now huh?
Posted on 4/28/20 at 6:16 am to Breadstick Gun
Oh, they are more than vulnerable. They are shattered because it is on display for the world to see that MJ is the GOAT.
And I was never a Jordan/Bulls guy.
I rooted for the C’s.
Larry Bird said, “That wasn’t Michael Jordan. That was God disguised as Michael Jordan.”
Larry Legend does not give false praise. Same guy said that he and his teammates “played like a bunch of women” after a loss to the Lakers (in ‘84, if I recall), and the C’s responded and won.
In this very thread, we got some idiot saying that MJ lacked the killer mentality. That is just ridiculously laughable and stupid.

The Larry O’Brien Trophy was courtside and it was roped off for Spurs celebration.
Took a lucky Jesus Shuttlesworth miracle to knock off the Spurs.

LeBron is responsible for all those finals defeats. He was the best player and is therefore linked to them.
