Once Governor Abbbott “reopens” Texas, I assume the self-quarantine order will be lifted. That said, apparently they really are checking up on people. Texas DPS has partnered with local law enforcement, so it might be a local police officer or sheriff’s deputy that stops by. I’ve heard that they call you and ask you to come to the door and wave so they can verify that you’re home.

What were they doing if you said you were just driving through Texas on your way to New Mexico or Oklahoma.

No different. It doesn’t matter if you are just passing through Louisiana. You still have to self-quarantine. I do think that part is ridiculous.

No one is enforcing this kind of stuff. They're just hoping you won't be an a-hole. We see how that's been working out.

Go by boat. It's not hard to cruise right up the river and get off at Audubon Park or Lasalle's Landing.

Yes, they are enforcing it, in as far as they’re checking up on some people. I have no idea if they are actually fining or jailing people for not complying.

Some businesses will reopen May 1. I’m not sure exactly which ones. I think that Abbott has another press conference scheduled for sometime this coming week.

If somehow that is what is done, why wouldn't people traveling I-20 just loop up through Texarkana and hit I-30?

No, they aren't.

They gave a 20 min heads up that they were coming. Called her when they got there and just had her come to the door and wave. They never got out of the car.

Forget the serial killers, these cops have nothing better to do than to stalk people.

I have to go to Texas in 2 weeks to help my daughter move from Waco to Dallas. In Dallas I plan to stay at a Double Tree maybe 2 miles from her new apartment. I plan to stay 3 days. With my luck they’d go check the hotel and I’d be at the apartment painting and assembling furniture. Stupid rule.

I’m going to fish Rayburn Tuesday. Just tell em it’s a day trip and you’re ok.
