That’s also a statistical reality.
So statistically, four people will die in my county, not three? Out of 229,000, where one has died to date, but three have died in car wrecks since the inception on the Chinese travel ban.

We’ve been using HCQ for quite some time based on anecdotes I’m hearing. My friend was put on it well over two weeks ago. I don’t see that resulting in a major shift in mortality versus two weeks ago.
I’ll be happy to be wrong.

Unfortunately, the number of deaths is going to rise pretty significantly over the next 10-14 days. We’re probably looking at 3,000 deaths per day in around 10 days.
That’s also a statistical reality.
8,000 deaths happen every day.

They do. 3,000 additional is statistically pretty significant.

Of course the other side can point out that you are proving that all of the extreme social distancing measures have worked based on your statistics. We don’t know what the numbers would have been do we?

They don’t care. Nurse Karen on Facebook posted a pic of herself with a mask and said shut it all down.

So now we are up to a whopping one per hospital. Corona Nazi column for you?

Not if those people were going to die within the next year. That’s not necessarily, and definitely not, 3,000 additional deaths a day. Pneumonia deaths are way down for instance.

We’re very happy that you aren’t in charge.
You. Clearly you have a have a point of view that colors your analysis and inevitably leads to a foregone conclusion. I think the medical professionals are using their best judgment.
Being rational, I don’t buy into most of the conspiracy bullshite that’s tossed around here.

The death toll could surpass 100k and I'd still call it a nothing burger.
Get back to work Slacker

We’ve been quarantined for 3 weeks already. It is having a major effect on numbers.
OK, 2 questions
1) The symptomatic window is 5-14 days, we have been locked down 7 days past that window. Why are the numbers exploding, are we padding the numbers to justify the lock down?
2) Every health expert on the planet will tell you, we are not stopping the virus, just slowing the spread. How slow do you realistically expect it to get?

But not the end of the world and certainly not worth shutting down the whole country over.

quote:Well this isn’t true. My wife’s great uncle died last week of pneumonia (just over 70), and the brother-in-law of a girl I graduated with was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection sometime in March (no COVID test at the time; given an inhaler to treat; in his 20’s) started having troubling breathing and eventually died at the grocery store.
Just a reminder of how they are reporting numbers...if you have it, or had symptoms (no confirmed test needed) and happen to die...
You are 1 of the 9000 dead
Neither of them have been classified as COVID deaths, despite both of them (especially the young one) dying or an upper respiratory infection. They are awaiting a post mortem COVID test for the younger one.

NY, the biggest death hotspot, just started a week ago. Just reported less deaths, less hospitalizations for the first time.

Dont you live in some god forsaken place like Natchez? is there a hospital there? normal year how many die? 2?
You obviously have me confused with someone else. But nice take on hating where someone feels comfortable living. You're just an everyday Nazi, corona withstanding.

To be fair, it cuts both ways. There are people who died from COVID19 that have been attributed to other causes.
Agreed. My wife's cousin died in her sleep (not attributed to COVID) then 10 days later her boyfriend was hospitalized with a confirmed case.

Conspiracy? I gave you the current number of deaths/cases, I informed you of the number of counties, and then applied Math. The fact that the numbers hurts your worldview, doesn't make it a conspiracy.
