Our endowment is pathetic compared with the rest of the SEC

2. University of Florida- $996 million
3. University of Kentucky- $958 million
4. University of Arkansas- $877 million

Yeah, I had to look at that one twice because I didn't believe it at first.

I'm guessing that not much of their moneys go to their athletic teams.

Also, I remember seeing this a year or so ago and we were at $300 something million so our endowment has been growing at a much faster pace than other SEC schools.

And I would have thought UGA would have a much higher endowment considering their rep as being one of the better academic state schools in the south.

I thought the Forever LSU campaign is being used to raise $750 mil, not raise the endowment to 750? Either way, LSU could really use the money.

That would put us second in the SEC. It would also improve perception of LSU as not just a football or party school.

endowments are different than typical fund raising campaigns like forever lsu. endowment money is not spent, it is invested and a portion of the profits are spent and a portion reinvested to continually grow the endowment. i think the forever lsu campaign is different as portions of that are going to places like TAF
