re: Forde: Damning evidence against Wade/Miller

It's more virtue signaling from a loser in a dying industry trying to "get a pelt on the wall".
Of course Wade was playing the recruiting game. ALL of the big name coaches play that game. They have to are they are going to be out on their arse looking for a job because they can't win.
I think those who are "outraged" have zero fricking clue how the AAU circuit works, which is where the top talent is recruited. High School basketball is secondary and something most of these guys do for fun.
AAU is a LITERAL marketplace for HS talent. These big time AAU programs aren't funded by taxpayers or catfish dinners. They're funded by shoe companies and the "organizer" (read: hustler) gets paid. Those guys then, in turn, market their players to colleges and shoe companies. It's why the fundamental basketball play is usually shitty. It's not about putting together a team that can win. It's about allowing each guy to show how good he is so the colleges/shoe companies will be willing to pay more. AAU organizers, coaches, parents, uncles, runners, etc are ALL on the take.
And here's the kicker....the NCAA KNOWS this. It's not exactly hard to see circumstantial evidence of guys and their families being paid (Hey, maybe Zion's family was independently wealthy BEFORE he signed with Duke?). In most years that don't involve the country going into complete freakout mode, the NCAA Tournament provides damn near 80% of the NCAA's total operating budget. You want to go broke? Devalue the NCAAT by essentially getting rid of all the great players because they are paid to play.

The Wade-Dawkins conversation actually begins with some byplay between the two about Jaron Blossomgame, a former Clemson player Dawkins was working with on behalf of ASM Sports Agency leading up to the 2017 NBA draft. Dawkins makes joking reference to Blossomgame going undrafted and coming back to school to play at LSU, which prompts this response from the coach: “We could compensate him better than the rookie minimum. We could give him more than the (NBA) D-League.”
God Damn Will, you just cannot come out and say this out loud.

This is actual new info though. That conversation wasn't even in reference to a recruit, as was originally portrayed by this merry band of terrible writers. (We knew the comments were made in jest already)

Only evidence I see, excuse me, only fact I can gather from this, is that Wade is a mother truckin' gangsta with a big ole set of brass balls. That's all I read.

Every Power 5 school is cheating and paying players and have been for a long time. Everyone knows it happens. The ones who think it doesn't are either just dumb or naive.
Possibly so, but every Power 5 School doesn't get caught. At the very least we need to admit Will Wade did something naive and/or stupid by speaking to someone ON THE PHONE. This is a rookie mistake by a 35 year old coach. I doubt very seriously that 45 year old Will Wade would have made such a preventable error.

Wade’s actions have all but admitted his guilt. Those things have gotten him off the hook with LSU
But a guy like Forde and the Louisville klan in particular want blood because that’s what happened to them

Whether one thinks it’s fair or not, I tend to agree with Forde that actually hearing it will make it worse
And I think Dawkins’ willingness to be the subject of such a film(let’s face it, he’s getting paid) is not a great sign. Who else will he or has he talked to already?
As for nothing new, there were 2 small details I’ve read that I didn’t know before. Admittedly it’s been a while since I’ve brushed up on this matter

This has been my only real concern as well. How much more public pressure will there be on LSU/NCAA to take action after we hear the tapes?

It doesn’t change evidence though. And, from our knowledge, the NCAA doesn’t have anything more.
I’m not sure why you see it differently?
Look, we all know Wade cheated .... but so does everyone else. I mean, fricking Creighton got wrapped up in this stuff. If you want LSU to be competitive, they’ve got to play the game. Otherwise you get Trent Johnson. A great coach but no talent.
Without there being a trail of transactions, or a video of Wade hanging out money to recruits ... he shouldn’t be let go.
There is nothing new here, and so the previous decision to retain him shouldn’t change.
There shouldn’t be this “nervousness” you speak of.

If Coach K, Wade, Calipari or any coach was recorded on the phone saying they will give $500,000 to a recruit, I wouldn’t expect them to be in any NCAA trouble at all. That goes for all collegiate sports head coaches. Recording a coach saying those things or someone saying a coach said those things is to easily defended against.
I guess a school could fire a coach for saying those things but I wouldn’t think a recording would be a crime or even grounds for punishment from the NCAA.
But if there is physical evidence that shows direct proof of payments to a recruit or handler of a recruit from a school or coach, then that is a problem.

Yeah seriously. They tried to attribute that to Wade talking about Smart last year, now we know he was joking about a dude who wasn’t even in college anymore. Thamel, Forde, and Wetzel are fricking hacks. This is ridiculous.

Any thread with Pat Forde articles posted in it should be whacked immediately. The guy is a well known fraud.

It must be puzzling for you that Wade is so blatantly guilty, that the evidence is in plain sight and that the most influential people in basketball want him taken out yet he’s still coaching at LSU? Even after an FBI investigation which surely had even more information. How is it possible you must be asking? Well buddy the truth is you have no idea what you’re talking about, you and the other P.Is who’ve claim d Wade’s guilt are 100% clueless and can’t recognize bullshite when it’s under your noses. It’s no wonder mass media has so much control over our people here, you guys will buy anything regardless of actual facts.
