Finally something noteworthy from Florida (other than me )

I can't believe it took 4 pages for someone to comment on that

All those beautiful miles of beaches we blocked Georgia and Alabama from getting.

quote:Because Christians believe there are no other ways to God except through Jesus Christ. Those seeking another way are rejecting the only true way to Him, leading to their eternal destruction. Christians don't want that, so we want everyone to seek Christ for salvation so they don't perish in their sins.
Why would a Christian CARE (one way or another) how another person chooses to seek the divine?

But LEGALLY, do you think that you are entitled to governmental resources in support of your efforts to bring Christian salvation to the heathen masses?

And this is the reason we have protections in this country from garbage cults like this.

Not sure how a cross on public property would violate the clause that congress pass no law establishing a national religion.
The warp to “separation of church and state” is one of the biggest shams in history. Those words don’t even appear in the constitution.

quote:And to be clear, I asked why any Christian would look forward to seeing other religious symbols. It was something of a rhetorical question because Christians shouldn't be looking forward to seeing symbols of false religions that are lead
I asked if you look forward to seeing other religious symbols on public property. I did not state that you do. To be clear.
quote:I don't care about religious symbols. I see it as more of a public access issue for religion, and especially for Christianity, since that's the only one I care about in terms of truth.
Let me ask you and other far right Christians this: Why is it even important to you that Christian symbols be displayed on public property? There is far more private property owned by Christians than there is public property. Why doesn’t that suffice?
The founders never intended that the separation of church and state to be an exclusion of religion from the public square. It was very specific to the prevention of the government from forcing people to worship or not worship in a certain way, against their consciences.

I don’t remember you being in any 2nd Amendment discussions on here, although I could be wrong. What’s your stance on it?

Exactly. But your stupid party thinks it does say freedom from religion. Your making my point.

Freedom From Religion Foundation are worthless assholes and cowardly bullies. If there was any real justice in this case they, and those misersble four they helped represent, would be forced to pay the attorney fees and court costs for the prevailing parties. Bet this a-hole wishes he could have these words back from earlier in the case.
quote:
"Most government representatives do the right thing and correct their mistakes when we point out violations of the law," Speckhardt said in the press release. "But the City of Pensacola continues to act irresponsibly by appealing an unsound case and racking up fees that will very likely be paid by the taxpayers of Pensacola."

quote:The Cross and symbols like it do none of that. Nobody is being converted by a 70 year old cross on public land.
It is the nature of the human animal to try to force one’s worldview upon those who do not share it.
