It's been about 3 months the past two years, but who knows if covid will slow down the editing or not. There should be enough drama to where they don't have to make any up, but I doubt they can resist.

Last couple years it came out about a month before the start of the next season, though if this season ran long I don’t know how that effects their timeline.
I found F1 off-season more enjoyable than other sports, you’ve got the holidays then before you know it it’s events to show the next years car, winter testing, drive to survive, filling remaining empty seats, etc. Next thing you know it’s March and they’re in Melbourne.
ETA: given the circumstances 2020 F1 has been fantastic, in a year where NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAA, etc have hodge podged together half assed seasons F1 was able to complete a 17 race calendar with no races cancelled, excellent racing, loads of drama, history made, it’s been probably the one sport that has been closest to its 2019 self. While all other sports have floundered about F1 has delivered bigly.

Apparently a ton of chatter that Perez will be confirmed tomorrow for RBR
Seeing multiple reports that an announcement could come as early as this week... possibly seeing Checo to RBR on a 1 year contract with Albon as the reserve driver
A lot of smoke from multiple sources

And there was Ana article out of the UL yesterday stating that Max wants Nico as his right hand...
I think Perez is more likely to get the seat, but who knows.
Anyone but Albion at this point. He’s a good driver, but not what RB needs to give Merc a run next year.

That should just leave Red Bull and Merc/Lewis as the only two unconfirmed seats, correct?

Yes, if you think there is any chance that Hamilton does not resign with Merc

Yes, but truly only RB. You’re an idiot if you think Hamilton doesn’t re-sign with Merc.
Thinking it will only be 1yr though with new rules in 2022

Yea Hamilton is 100% back in that seat, sorry meant those 2 were the only ones not officially confirmed.

OK I think it's really a done deal now. Red Bull expected to announce Perez on Friday:

Good. I hate when top teams hang on to a mediocre #2 for too long. There just aren't enough good seats to go around. Give a guy a year, and if he's nowhere near the #1 guy, give someone else a chance!
Albon is kind of screwed though. When Gasly underwhelmed, he was able to get back to his old seat and re-build his confidence and reputation. Albon is now squeezed out and I think his F1 career is over, unless he has enough personal sponsorship to buy a seat.

Probably too much personal baggage for that.

I feel like Max is going to wipe the floor with Sergio.

Max would wipe the floor with any driver available to Red Bull at the moment.

He would but I think Perez can bring more pressure to the front of the grid giving RB a fighting chance. Max fought Merc all by himself this season. Perez will fight at the front while Albon fought off the mid field all season.

Albon needs to commit to getting an IndyCar seat, he seems like he would do well out of the pressure & politics of F1

100% this, I don't expect Perez to give Max the fight that Ricciardo did but I do expect Perez to give Mercedes enough of a fit that he forces them to adjust their strategy, get on the occasional podium, and be there to pick up the off win or two during the span of the season. Red Bull needs someone consistently qualifying in the top 4 to take it to Mercedes in the constructor, not wallowing around in 10th.
ETA: Right as I made this post Red Bull just announced Checo for 2021 on their instagram.
