Georgia and Clemson will be playing earlier than originally planned.
UGASports has confirmed that the Bulldogs and Tigers will open the 2021 season at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Brett McMurphy of @Stadium was the first to break the news, although Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart was asked about recent rumors that the game would take place. Smart did not answer the question, but later suggest that “both schools” would “fill the place up.”

Charlotte makes sense but wish this series were home and home like they did in 2013 and 2014

I think scheduled neutral site games between two teams are so dumb. Let it be a home and home so each fanbase can experience a big game like that.

Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Such a "blah" place for a college football game. So bland.

When this comes up we all lament the location. Does anyone know how much more money they get for playing it in Charlotte?

Some of you freakin folks have no idea how college scheduling works especially with home and homes.
It was going to be IMPOSSIBLE to schedule this game this quick without playing at a nuetral site.

Doesn't mean we can't comment that the venue and city suck
I dont mind neutral site games, I just like to take jabs at my hometown, and NFL team's stadium.

Clemson was filled up with ND and UofSC the year before and the year after. They only had a one time P5 game available.

WGAS? It's gonna be a top 10 rivalry game that hasn't been played in 7 years.
Wish it was at MCB but they already scheduled Bama vs Miami.

Agreed. Both teams will be freaking stacked.

I wish they played every year to open up the season. They are close, rivals and both are top tier right now.

Clemson is closer to Athens than Columbia. I've spent some time in Long Creek, SC and Clayton, GA and that's where you really see the rivalry. Toccoa as well.

Nobody is saying that it’s wrong for them to try and make as much money as possible. What they’re saying is it sucks for the fan bases as they’d 100% much rather have a home/home than two neutral sites.
The shine would be taken off the games IMO if LSU played Texas at NRG last year and then Superdome this year.
How many times do you as a fan get to say that you got to see a UT-LSU game at night in Death Valley? It’s a once in a lifetime type deal for the fans...and the players as well.
