What do you throw in the pot with the crawfish

I've always done potatoes (small ones), onions, garlic, frozen corn on the cob, and halved lemons. But recently had a request for mushrooms, halved oranges instead of lemons (I'm in Florida citrus country), and even green beans to satisfy some that want more veggies. I was thinking at least fresh corn on the cob. ??

Corn
Potatoes
Garlic
Mushroom
sausage
That's all I need. Some people go overboard with it. My rule of thumb is to never make special requests if you're not the one doing to boiling. I also hate it when people bring their own extras. Don't get me wrong it taste delicious, and good when you don't want to buy a ton of crawfish and ppl can fill up on that, but I feel like it takes away from the crawfish too mich

Red potatoes, Lemons (halved), garlic, asparagus, onions

Lima Beans
Watercress
A few containers of cake frosting (once the pot has cooled and won't melt the plastic)
Exactly 2 cans of warm Bud Light
Canned Tomatoes
And if you're feeling really adventurous, half of loaf of week old bread...it really sops up that crawfish boil flavor

Mushrooms are my favorite addition. They soak up the flavor so well.

Mushrooms in a crawfish boil are awful.

Onions, celery, corn, potatoes, lemons, sausage, mushrooms, artichokes if cheap enough at the time, garlic and bay leaves.

I like oranges in there better than lemon. Any citrus is good (lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, etc..). You can also use frozen concentrate or citric acid.

I've gotten to where the only thing I toss in is corn and mushrooms. No one really eats anything else.
I add lemon but i consider that a part of the spice mixture and not a side.

I’ve had success with pineapple and jalapeño

Last year, somewhat by accident, I threw in sea scallops right at fire out. We had plenty of other fixins already done and decided on one more sack.
Continued to do it at several other boils and it appeared to be a hit. Found a huge bag of scallops at Costco that I plan to use this year.

We started throwing a few chopped sweet potatoes in and the crowd loves them. They soak up the boil really well.
If we can plan ahead we'll throw a turkey in the boil after the crawfish have been cooked and eaten. It ain't pretty but it sure tastes good.

Watch this episode of Julia Child cooking with a young Emeril Lagasse. You will be amazed at all the stuff he puts in that pot.

Among other things mentioned, split an artichoke in half, clean out the thistles and add to the boil.
