What type of contractor to install cooktop exhaust system

Want to get a contractor to determine if we can install an overhead exhaust venting system in place of our current downdraft. The cooktop is on an interior wall, so I know that it might not be feasible to vent outside and may need makeup air.
Question is what trade (plumber, electrician, etc.) does this kind of work? Thank you for any advice.

If permitted HVAC would pull the permit, so that’s where I would start

An HVAC (heating, Ventilation, air conditioning) professional should do this. You should be able to cut a hole in the roof and vent out there. You would only need makeup air if the CFM of the hood is over 360 and even then not in all instances

Is there an attic over your kitchen?

Ac man and roofer, assuming vent will go through the roof.

Call an hvac company to run exhaust pipe after you install whatever type of venting system you’re gonna use. Coordinate with a roofer to install the roof jack the same day hvac guy makes penetration through the roof.

I just did this my self.
Need correct sized hard duct, in my case it was 10”. Proper roof jack, aluminum tape and sheet metal screws. That’s it.
