In the game I saw in Lubbock, a 19-13 LSU win, Jimmy Taylor was not a major factor in the outcome. All three Tiger TDs were scored by sophomores -- two by Cannon and one by Johnny Robinson on a pass reception shortly before the first half ended.
However, Taylor came on strong later in the season. He was an All-American. Both Taylor and Cannon gained more yards rushing that year than the Heisman Trophy winner, John David Crow, a 210-pound running back from Springhill, La. He had been "recruited" off the LSU campus by Bear Bryant and Texas A&M. LSU fans of that period always talked about the three running backs the Tigers might of had, Taylor, Crow and Cannon. But 1958 started the Tigers rolling and Cannon had a lot to do with that. But nothing could top the offensive fireworks of this season and Joe Burrow's great passing and timely gains running the ball. I wish we could start the season next week.

I missed seeing Billy by one year. Went to my first game in 1960 - 60 years ago.

You would have to be older than 65 to remember seeing Cannon.

Unless... you are asking how many posters on Tigerdroppings are over 65 years old.
If so, you went a weird way about asking it.
Good point. Any Tiger fan over 65 would have a good chance of witnessing the same. Although, those over 70, probably really remember it.

I’m too young to have seen Cannon live as a Tiger.
My mother-in-law (no pics) was at the Halloween Game on a date as a 18 year-old.
Her date that night eventually became my High School Football Coach.
She checked out in August of ‘19.

Age 78 here - saw my first game in Tiger Stadium in 1949 when I was 8 years old. Well remember the game.

Same here. Once in 58 and once in 59. Only 8 and 9. Father had season tickets. For the must part keep my arse with the grandparents. Only radio for the rest of the games. AM WWL.

Saw Cannon in the 58 season when I was 13.
Saw Borrow this year.
Sat next to Pete Maravich, both times he went to Accounting class.
Tigers have been many good times.

I saw Cannon in 58 and had season tickets in 59. South end zone family section. I believe my ticket as an 11 year old was 50 cents per game. I also went to the sugar bowl when Cannon threw td pass to beat Clemson. Also I was in Tulane stadium for the 21-0 loss to Ole Miss. I got out of Marines in 1972. Starting in 1973 I’ve missed two home games in the last 47 years. This year with Burrow has been the best of all.
