We are not invading Iran. Jesus.
If Iran falls, the ME will be nearly at peace.
That government is the primary thing keeping terrorism alive and well.
This was strategic and smart. Iraqis will celebrate this. Hell, Iranians are celebrating this. Iran might harass a carrier or something but now they know..... we will take action. No more games assholes

I’m not picking on you, but I think we’ve forgotten what honor means in this country.
They will be compelled to respond. Knowing full well that even our conventional response will be devastating.
They will respond knowing that and understanding the price they will pay.

Killing a high ranking general which could be considered an act of war is a tad different

Apparently we didn’t learn from Iraq. I wonder how much this one will cost?
No one is cheering for it, what we are cheering for is that we finally have a leader with the balls to take a strong, decisive stand against some of these 3rd world asshats. If that stand ends up leading to war then that sucks but that would be the price of their killing our people and attacking our base.

We did this to prevent a war, I hope people see this....Iran wants a war to distract its people, but we can’t just keep allowing these attacks to go unchallenged. The President’s main job is to protect the citizens of the US, they have to know there’s a limit to what we are going to put up with...

Keyboard warriors have way more intelligence than our gov't

Not sure Iran has a choice. By killing this military leader the us has essentially called the Iranians bluff. They’ve been able to “state sponsor” covert terror actions across the Middle East under his leadership while having a “hands off” look to the outside world. This action forces them to act or stop what they’ve been doing under his leadership. At the least I would imagine they’ll attack more saudi infrastructure or target the shipping routes. Higher oil prices will result which benefits Iran regardless. They sell a lot of their oil as “Iraqi” crude now to get around the sanctions and Saudi has been forced to take some after the abquaiq strike in 2019.

Meh, this not a real war. Just taking out Iranian terrorists proxies in response to their provocations. Don’t do shite there wont be shite. Real simple.

But killing a general could be considered an act of war. My hope is this cripples Iran enough to where they don't want to fight and Russia tells them to frick off

What lessons did the world learn from appeasement and weakness to maintain peace?
Our invasion of Iraq is why that area is even worse now than it was in 2001. Our invasion of Iraq further exacerbated sectarian tensions in a cauldron that was only held together by Saddam's strongman rule. Our invasion of Iraq is why you have ISIS and Shia death squads trying to fill the void left by the Baathists. Appeasement is the furthest thing from what anyone in the United States has done in that part of the world since the end of WW2.

You’d be foolish to not consider taking Qassam out. He’s arguably the head of the snake. This could set back Iran for a while

I can't wait for a decade from now when everyone clamoring for war now pretends that they've always been opposed to it.

It isn’t even being talked about by Democrats on the campaign trail.

You think Dems will be in control a decade from now?

Protesters storming a base is hardly a cause for war.
Posted on 1/2/20 at 10:06 pm to DavidTheGnome
We should just let people attack our embassies.

How would that be costly. America has had enough of this front page farce. Honestly, it not being on the front page actually helps the Democrats, not Trump. Your take is skewed.
