Opponent (Record) - Pass Offense Ranking - Pass Yards Per Game - Pass Yards vs Clemson
Ga Tech (3-9) - 124th - 134 ypg - 137
Texas AM (8-5) - 64th - 235 ypg - 236
Syracuse (5-7) - 58th - 240 ypg - 172
Charlotte (7-6) - 84th - 211 ypg - 63
UNC (7-6) - 25th - 285 ypg - 144
Fla State (6-7) - 34th - 267 ypg - 150
Louisville (8-5) - 65th - 234 ypg - 107
Boston College (6-6) - 107th - 183 ypg - 80
Wofford (8-4) - I dont even know who the fukk that is - 117
NC State (4-8) - 67th - 229 ypg - 166
Wake Forrest (8-5) - 24th - 288 ypg - 41
South Carolina (4-8) - 74th - 222 ypg - 105
Virginia (9-5) - 33rd - 267 ypg - 283
Ohio State (13-1) - 37th - 263 ypg - 320
so the back half of their schedule, when they got "good" after the wake-up call vs UNC, had 4 horrific teams (BC, Wofford, NCS, and Scar), and Wake, which is like beating up Vandy.
after that was Virginia and Ohio State, who actually improved over their average.
leading up to that was Fla State, who was so inept the HC was fired a few weeks later, and Louisville, where the QB went 4 for 11. in the game before Clemson he was 5 for 6. in the game after he was 6 for 10. in the bowl game yesterday vs Kentucky he was 6 for 11.
so yeah if the QB never throws the ball, thats gonna help out your pass D stats.
oh by the way we're ranked 2nd with 398 ypg.
They haven't faced anyone averaging 300, and we're at 400.

They don't understand facts and statistics man. You're wasting your time.

Can you imagine being a Clemson fan and paying to see those putrid games?

Damn. That’s an eye opener!

good stuff
I was trying to make this point on another thread - you made the point
they have played no arm talent QBs and gave up 500 plus yards to OSU

I only caught a decent amount of the 2nd half of the UNC game. UNC had a Fr QB so they didn't throw much. Also, it seemed Mack Brown was trying to play keep away from the Clemson offense by running the ball as well. On UNC's final drive, they just ran the ball almost the entire drive and were successful

I think Burrow plows them, however it seems they kept a lot of teams well below their average. Good D no doubt, but the last two games against competition the opponents have gained more than their average. Not a good sign for lil ole Clemson.

I mean they did hold most opponents to WAY less yards than their average.

Except Virginia and Ohio State. The best two teams on their schedule.
They can only keep below average teams to below average passing yards.

Which is easy to do when you're a top 10 team playing in a trash conference.

This game could/should go like the Bama game, and even CU's game vs OSU. Come out and overwhelm them with formations, plays, and PLAYERS - on both sides of the ball - that they have NOT seen all year. Punch them in the throat and don't let them catch their breath. Score TD's, don't settle for FGs. OSU let CU hang around and it cost them. Dominate form the opening KO to the final whistle. CU will adjust, whether it be at halftime or at some time in the game. They have very good personnel and a superb coaching staff. 'Adjust' to their adjustments and keep the pedal down. Don't let them make this a game in the 4th qtr.

Great job GC - great insight into a “great” passing D.

Joe will throw for 400 yards

Clemson is scared to death of LSU, and they should be. On 1-13-20 reality will hit them right in the face as LSU lights up the scoreboard. No team has stopped LSU all season and Clemson won't be the first.

This won’t be covered by the main stream sports media i.e. ESPN who say Clemson has a 52% chance of winning this game. It’s in NOLA, fans will be nuts and I think Clemson will play that underdog card right down the drain in this game.
My prediction for this game is that the LSU offensive theme for the year continues.
EVERYBODY EATS!
Somewhere around 400 yards passing and just under 200 yards rushing, where CEH destroys them out of the backfield, and Joe Burrow just goes to the open/single covered guy all day. I expect a couple of long screen passes perhaps for a TD on at least one.
Someone said it’ll be like the Bama game, I agree. High Scoring, but if we can stop Trevor Lawrence from running (which I think Jacob Phillips and Jacoby Stevens/Michael Divinity will) It’s gonna be a long day for the other Tigers.

Very telling...
Even playing that level of talent, 5 of the teams passed over their average against Clemson.
