Either one more beneficial than the other and are different muscles getting worked between the two?

I was just wondering if one is better than the other and if one works a different muscle group.

I've always treated the barbell standing press as a strength movement. The dumbbell press is a bodybuilding exercise.
I do both and treat them accordingly.

Don’t forget about z presses

Standing press will do more for the entire shoulder girdle bc you need stability. You'll get more overall strength from it too.
DB seated press is more about reps and trying to get a shoulder pump for bodybuilding.
I think you could use seated presses after standing presses as an effective accessory.

I do both. I use a hex bar for my standing presses though.

Standing barbell will help work your core as you stabilize as well as activate your triceps more.
Seated dumbbell is also a great exercise.
Honestly it's good to rotate between each.

Standing is good because you have to engage your core for stability and support.
Seated is good because it allows you to really focus on the muscle.
Just mix em up. I usually try to start out with standing, then cycle other exercises for different areas of the shoulder and then finish with seated press burn out sets.
Then i normally have trouble washing my hair in the shower lol

For me personally I have noticed that standing barbell presses give me a much thicker appearance in my upper chest, traps, neck and shoulders. Due to that I don't even do DB seated presses.
Also quick tip that helped me tremendously when doing standing barbell press: when taking your grip on the bar, rotate your thumbs down towards the floor slightly so the bar is mostly over the "meat" of your palms. I have skinny wrists and always had pain from the press until I did this, it helps your wrists from bending to much under heavy weight.
Also keep your elbows tight as possible near the chest. Makes for a more efficient lift. I feel like I generate more power that way.

I prefer standing dumbbell presses over both standing barbell and seated dumbbell.

Standing barbell just annoys me more. Maybe when I build some more strength it won't. I just don't like having to move my face out of the way of the bar. It makes me feel like I arch my back too much getting it past my head.

Do them both. The standing barbell press should be your primary lift schemed to build strength. Use seated dumbbell press as an accessory exercise to complement the primary lift. Bang that out for reps. Do that together to build strong shoulders and body all together.

Probably not doing it properly. You’re supposed to move your head out of the way during the press, but once your head is clear, you’re supposed to push your head back through to it’s normal position as you press. Make sure your arse cheeks are clenched and you have a good brace in your core.

When playing football, a lot of us would sit on a flat bench and do military. It cuts out leg drive, and you still incorporate the core.
When overloading though, stand up and use your legs when needed. It’s a great way to build shoulder strength. In a few weeks you will be doing heavier weight while seated.
