What is Kamara’s trade value?

Curious what he’d be worth...
Think there’s a strong argument we would be better off in the future trading Kamara, drafting someone like CEH or Swift and using the $ that would’ve gone to Kamara to pay the young talent on D or Ramcyzk

what? to trade away every great player we draft? He is a unique talent that fits what we do perfectly. He is everything Bush was supposed to be but was not, yet many wanted Bush to be here forever.
It took us this long to finally find him, yet we are supposed to now trade him? This is getting to be ridiculous.

Not really. Its true that kamara is a generational talent but we need to invest in our oline and dline. I think we get near equal production from an upgrade at LG and a RB drafted in the 3rd rd

we have a huge qb situation looming. Our starter and our backup are in last year of deals and both are carrying nearly 25 mill in cap over next 2 years.
we already paid big money to MT which appears to absolutely have been the right call. now paying another 12-15 mill a year to Kamara is a bit... expensive. Its not cap crushing but makes you think if say we flip alvin for a 1st and a future 3 or something.
We do have lots of young players that we'd like to keep long term. Ramczyk, Marcus Williams, Vonn Bell, Eli Apple, Marshon Lattimore, have a LG issue this offseason as well, Rankins....
When we ponder such things, its also a compliment to the value they bring.

Lots of hate for a legit question. Paying RBs never pays off so it's at least worth exploring.
As good as he is, I don't think he'd get as much return as we'd like. Probably a mid 1st and a 3rd/4th because of the upcoming contract.

Kamara's trade value is not as high as his production value.

Kind of amazed so many are acting as if this is absurd and not mounting an argument for paying Kamara, my argument for trading him is pretty simple... use that $ to keep Ram and Bell etc.... if you pay Kamara you’re going to sacrifice likely multiple current starters

one different angle is that maybe saints can use this downish year to lock him up in a more affordable longterm deal that works for both sides instead of him commanding rb/wr hypbrid legit max type money.

I get where you're coming from... big contracts to RB's usually don't work out, nor are they a good value vs other positions. However, he's only 24. Signing him through his age 30 season is a good play.
Your culture also matters both in the locker room, and in relation to fans. Trading away all your great players before you have to pay them is a good way to empty the Dome and alienate your players.

My thoughts as well. I get the logic behind trading him, but don't think we will have a team give us enough in return. I would hate to lose him for free though.

I think at best you are looking at a conditional 3rd. He has 1 year left on his deal, and there would be legit concern over whether he can carry the load considering his injuries and not being as productive. Whoever we trade him to would want the draft pick to be conditional on signing him to a long-term deal.
I also don't believe his lack of production is his fault. The past few games he is getting hit as soon as he touches the ball. You can't expect any RB to perform consistently under that type of abuse.

That's basically what the Patriots do. How many guys other than Brady have they given big money to? I get both sides of the argument though.
One way they could make it work is if they bring in a rookie to replace Brees in the next couple of years. Then they'd have a window to lock up Kamara, Ram, Lattimore, Bell, etc. while that QB is on his rookie deal. If not Bridgewater would have to sign a very, very cap friendly deal or they go out and find a cheap veteran trying to rehab their career like a Marcus Mariota or Andy Dalton.
