Yeah, Hill was averaging 10 ypc and then LSU decides to throw the ball three straight times on the last drive for some odd reason giving them time to come down the field and win the game.

Where were you? I was in Myrtle Beach at some outdoor event with huge TV screens and lots of people for the countdown, but they had the game on too. What a crappy way to start the New Year.

We definitely catapulted Clemson in that one... Only cool thing about this game was took daughter and splurged for 50yd line tickets on first row. Was cool but our guys were anything but in to the game.

I think there was a bit of negativity going into that game from everyone. We wanted to beat the tar out of Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl but got stuck playing what felt like a lesser game against an inferior opponent. And for 3 quarters LSU played like it needed to, furthering the point A&M had no business getting that bid over us. Then that burn out the game clock went into effect and Chavis told everyone to stand back it was his time to shine.

Big game Mett delivered when it counted! This is why I disagree with those who cite him as being great.

Totally agree, he has a couple of clunkers during his career. I’m still mystified how we loss to Ole Miss in 2013.

They called a perfect play Mettenberger threw the ball 10 yards over Landry’s head on a simple out route.

A bootleg with a qb who wasn’t mobile. All we needed was 3 yards in 2 plays and Hill was getting 10 yards a carry.

Miles, of all people, didn’t run the ball when running was the right call.

To me that is what ticked me off the most about that loss. Then to not only pass it once, but twice. Freaking twice on 2nd and 3rd and under 3.

This 100%. Two teams that dominated the better part of their respective decades passing one another by in opposite directions.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if this years CFP included a rematch with the two changing direction again

No way were suppose to lose that game. Dabo after that game, and the way he continuously brings up this game over the years makes it even more frustrating.

Landry was wide open. It wasn’t anyone near him. You can’t make any excuses for Mett on that play. Any high school QB could make that throw.

This was the bowl game that kicked off our family tradition of going to whatever bowl game we're in. I remember it being a LONG game with our defense pulling the faking injury crap late (like every single play) and getting out and to the car in time for it to strike midnight.

It was unreal how we lost that game.

Other bad bowls we went to was the music city shite bowl and the 2nd Citrus shite bowl where we lost both to the damn Leprechauns. God I hate Notre Dame.

Was at the game. 3rd and Chavis and 4th and Chavis still haunts my dreams. Our last offense procession was horrible.

Les was too political, he threw games that he was told to throw. This was one of them.

He also self-sanctioned the team so that they would lose big games to prove a point to the NCAA and SEC that all his delinquent players were being punished.
