What state imposed deer limit would you find acceptable?

I would love to see TN go to a 2 buck / 1 doe limit, with bucks 4pts or more on 1 antler or spread out to ears (basically a 3.5 yo deer).
Would this be too strict?

Yes. I would like to just see 6 points or 8 points . And you have to kill a doe to take a buck. My last club was 24” inch main beam but we had monster deer

For my area, year round season as many as you can take.
Maybe 100 deer a year get taken from a 70k acre waterlocked plot.
They are too many.

Two buck limit! Mississippi antler restrictions!

You have to kill a hog before you can kill a deer lol.
Seriously though, I think one buck and two does would be great.

2 bucks , 3 does
3 points on one side
It Leaves some bucks to grow and can’t complain about lack of meat.

With CWD, I think we’ll see states go away from antler restrictions and will increase season limits.
I like Georgia’s the best.
2 bucks, one must be 4 on one side.
10 does.
All deer can be killed in the same day.

Holy shite that’s a lot of skinning and deboning!
I hate how there are places that let you kill your limit as you see fit and the area I hunt sent us back to the 60’s with doe days.

I would limit deer hunting to 6 coonasses per parish. The rest will take care of itself.

Or a coyote...

I think Texas does it pretty well. Default tags and seasons are generous with programs to get plenty more if you feel the need. Antler restrictions only apply in counties with too many dumbasses.

Louisiana is such a diverse state, not only with a rut varying from September to February, but the deer population is just as extreme.
I saw less than 20 deer and only 2 bucks all last season at my lease near Sikes. Have seen no bucks this year.
However, in just a few hunts in nunyobizness LA, I’ve seen 8 different bucks and 2 shooters, letting the last one walk (if he makes he’s gonna be a hoss next year).
I think each individual lease has to be smart about what their land can handle as far as deer population. I would like our lease to go to 1 doe and 2 bucks and would love to see some type of antler restrictions. But if we did that we’d lose half the membership and then the lease.

Several of the responses in this thread have some variation of 2 bucks/1 doe. I’m curious what the reasoning behind this is. Are your areas very buck heavy?

I usually don't like more restrictions, but I wouldn't mind La going to 2 bucks 2 does. We eat a lot of deer at our house and we've never gone through more than about 4 in a year.
