Purpose of CFP is to determine best team. There should be a rule that if a team already lost to a team ahead of them (in particular on their home field) in rankings the loser cannot be selected. Seems common sense so I cannot see why BAMA is still in conversation.

The Playoff committee will review your input, thank you.

This is a fresh new topic, that hasn't been touched on this board ever. Thanks for the new take.

Wow. A week later, game day against Ole Miss, and many of us are still more focused on Bama than LSU.

I understand it. To an extent, I'm the same way, but it makes one wonder what it will take for many of our fans to finally get over the many years of domestic abuse that LSU has suffered from Bama these past 8 years. Obviously, beating them in their house wasn't enough. They're still the bogeyman waiting to ruin our magical season.

If the CFP leaves them out of the top 4, it won't help. Many LSU fans will just feel like we barely escaped disaster by something beyond our control.

I'm not criticizing LSU fans for still being triggered by Bama. Between the Nick Saban switcheroo, the 2012 NC rematch debacle, and the 8 years of misery including a few games we should have won only to turn out to be a cruel tease, I understand the sentiment. And any fan base, including Bama, who doesn't admit that they would feel exactly the same if they had gone through what LSU has is either lying or clueless.

I'm just wondering what it will take for LSU fans to finally get over their Bama PTSD. I guess it't going to be like any road to recovery - one victory at a time.

People are scared of playing Bama again because of ‘12 and Miles’ stubbornness. This offense along with Aranda having many weeks to prepare and adjust...gives me a lot of confidence.

So hypothetically
Say LSU had lost to Texas and LSU finishes 12-1 SEC champs and Texas Finished 13-0 Big 12 champs.

In your scenario, LSU is out of the playoff. Does that make sense?

I think Bama should be and will be out unless multiple teams shite the bed the next few weeks. They are positioned to be jumped by any power 5 champ with less than 2 losses.
