Yea - won't catch me buying a Parish special release anytime soon. Probably ever in fact. I'll admit I'm too poor for those kinds of prices.

The Oats in the beer is an influence from their previous collabs with Other Half

I know a lot of people rag on parish for their prices but $18-$22 for a special release 4 pack (16oz) seems to be the going rate for a lot of good ipa/dipa’s in several states. For good beers in demand at least.

Or, it's what majority of brewers use nowadays for mouthfeel so they don't have to use as many brewing salts and have it taste minerally. (it also adds to some of the haziness)

I get a little chuckle that they are using oats. A few years back, during a brewery tour, i was asking one of the brewers about the grain bill for Ghost. As a home brewer, i was curious what they used. He said, "i can't tell you that, but you can guess." So i said, "Oats?" and he scoffed at the idea that they would use oats in the beer.

Anywho, $21/4 pack is too rich for my blood. I'm sure posters will be here trying to convince us that "$21/4 pack is normal for new releases/DIPA's/etc..."

Parish has priced themselves out of the market for beer (for me). 1 4 pack of plate lunch, and 1 bottle of "maple/coconut/coffee/hazelnut/vanilla/chocolate//caramel/black licorice/lactose/pecan/insert any other additive to remove any taste of a beer" Shade will run you over $50. That's absurd. And yes, fanboys, i'm sure people will be lining the streets willing to fork over their money for this.

"a fool and his money" and such.

Oh, and food for thought. I can brew 5 gallons of plate lunch for the price of 2 - 4 packs.

They're also releasing the BBA Grand Reserve, BBA Imperial Reserve, and Port Barrel Age Abby Reserve.

I'm going to try to scoop a bottle of the Grand Reserve and Abby if I can show up in the afternoon and the line has settled down and the prices aren't outrageous but I'm not really interested in another IPA for $20+

Flying Tiger needs to put out a new batch of Final Resting Place. $13/4 of 16oz cans is a Ghost Killer for me.

I love craft beer but this is all getting ridiculous

Marketing is making bank for them.

Too many good beers on the shelves that keep me away from these high dollar events.

But the Church nerds love this for their Facebook posts. Makes them feel special to be grabbing something that you don't have.
