Automatic locking doors.
Move a car just few ft. from 1 area to another everything locks.
This is almost certainly an adjustable feature. I know it is in my car. I think the settings on mine are off, lock when shift into drive, and lock at a certain speed.

I agree on the lack of knobs being a problem. After owning a car for a while I can reach over and turn a knob without looking so I never have to take my eyes off the road. You can't do that with a touch screen.

I'll put up with the auto-braking because I'm a horrible driver and it'll probably save my life some day.

That start/stop shite is one of the worst ideas ever to reach actual production.

Some of the new features are good, some are not.
Absolutely agree that the auto start/stop is annoying as shite. It's become second nature to hit the button to disable it when I get in my truck. I find lane departure warning to be more annoying than helpful. I also don't like the auto high beams. They seem to come on at the most random times.
Features I enjoy:remote start, backup sensors/cameras, and blind spot monitoring.
I'm undecided on auto wipers. For the most part they do a good job, but sometimes they come on out of nowhere.

I’m still rocking roll up windows and manual locks
pretty sure that's still standard on new fleet trucks, although I haven't looked at those in a few years

I’ll never buy another car without a backup camera.

2019s came with it. Cant permanently disable, have to do it every-time you start it. I have no idea why they couldn't make a permanent setting.
You can thank CAFE standards and environmentalists for this shite. The automakers can take a credit when they're making up emissions and MPG numbers for stopping the engine during the time an average car spends stopped at your average red light. It can be overridden for safety or convenience reasons, but the override cannot latch and stay engaged through a power-off period for the automakers to be able to take the credit for it.
Next time you see a tree-hugger break its fricking nose and kill a whale. For the people.

The first aftermarket product that comes around and let’s you permanently disable it will make millions.
They exist. The automakers also will claim doing that may instavoid your warranty. If something goes wrong with the vehicle and they can find any way to claim the part you added caused the problem, you're gonna have to fight in court to get them to fix stuff.

I agree with you on most of that. I dislike the trend of all controls being on the touch screen. Keep the knobs / push buttons for volume and a/c at the very least.

Put both hands on the steering wheel and you’ll find the buttons on the back to change stations/volume

Performance vehicles typically don't have it because the manufacturer's CAFE numbers are made up of a composite across all the vehicles they produce that fall under the CAFE standards. Performance vehicles make up a relatively small number of the fleet, so they don't really move the needle that much, and most manufacturers don't try to wring emissions and fuel efficiency numbers out of them with bullshite gimmicks and cheap tricks that might risk damaging the brand.

I think that's because a lot of new vehicles are becoming "fly by wire," less shite to break, less parts, not that any of the cost savings will be passed on to the consumer though
