Teams in action last night were 1-2.


Louisiana Tech got a win at home against Rice by a score of 72-56. The Bulldogs had four players reach double figures in the scoring column including Daquan Bracey (15), Derric Jean (13), Kalob Ledoux (11) and Mo Muhammed (10 & 10 rebounds). Louisiana Tech improves to 13-4 this season and 4-1 in CUSA.

ULM lost by a single point at home against Texas State falling 63-64. Tyree White was the leading scorer for the Warhawks with 16 points and Michael Ertel and JD Williams each scored 15 points but they came up just short. ULM falls to 6-11 overall and 2-6 in the Sun Belt.

ULL fell behind early against UT-Arlington and never caught up losing by a final score of 65-81. The Cajuns got 23 points from Jalen Johnson, 11 points & 11 rebounds from Tirus Smith and 10 points from PJ Hardy in the loss. The Cajuns drop to 7-12 on the year and 2-6 in SBC play.



There are no games tonight but everyone is in action tomorrow except for Northwestern State. We also have another in state match up tomorrow as McNeese heads to Lakefront to face UNO. See weekend schedule below.

I would say the Cajuns need to fire Marlin after this season and just hire some young, hungry guy for half of the stupidly high $500k current salary.

But his buyout is too damn high as well. This is the one decision Maggard made as AD that I hate. Fortunately, I really don't care about the sport of basketball, but I'd rather see half of Marlin's current salary go towards something more useful, like assistant pay for football or baseball.

Not the best weekend overall as teams in action went a combined 4-7.

We'll start with the wins.


LSU won on the road once again beating Ole Miss 80-76. Four Tigers were in double figures including Javonte Smart (20), Emmitt Williams (17), Skylar Mays (15) and Marlon Taylor (13). LSU improves to 13-4 on the season and remains undefeated at 5-0 in SEC play.

Nicholls had a big second half and came back to beat Central Arkansas 79-72. The Colonels got big scoring efforts from Elvis Harvey who scored 24 and Andre Jones who scored 20. D'Angelo Hunter also added 11 points in the win. Nicholls now sits at 12-7 on the year and 6-2 in the Southland.

In an in state match up McNeese went to New Orleans and got a 65-52 win over UNO. Shamarkus Kennedy led the way for the Cowboys with 21 points & 14 rebounds and Dru Kruxhausen added 18 points in the win. The Privateers got 27 points from Bryson Robinson and 16 points from Jaylen Key in the loss. McNeese gets to .500 overall at 9-9 and 4-3 in SLC play while UNO falls to 6-12 and 2-6.

The last win of the weekend belonged to Southern who got a 75-56 win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Jags had a trio of double digit scorers in Ahsante Shivers, Damiree Burns and Micah Bradford who scored 18, 16 & 11 respectively in the win. Southern is now 5-12 this year and 2-3 in SWAC play.

Tulane couldn't keep up in the second half against Tulsa as they lost 54-67. The Wave got 15 points from KJ Lawson, 14 points Teshaun Hightower and 10 points from Christion Thompson in the loss. Tulane drops to 10-8 on the season and 2-4 in the AAC.

Louisiana Tech made a big push in the second half but ultimately lost at the buzzer to North Texas 50-51. Amorie Archibald was the only double figure scorer for the Bulldogs as he had 17 points in the loss. Louisiana Tech is now 13-5 overall and 4-2 in CUSA play.

ULM suffered a 58-78 loss to UT-Arlington. Tyree White scored 18 and JD Williams had 14 points as they were the only Warhawk players to reach double digits in the loss. ULM falls to 6-12 on the season and 2-7 in the Sun Belt.

ULL lost to Texas State 59-68. Jalen Johnson scored 18 for the Cajuns who also got 11 each from Dou Gueye and PJ Hardy in the loss. The Cajuns drop to 7-13 on the year and 2-7 in SBC play.

Southeastern lost on the road at Abilene Christian 55-76. Byron Smith and Maxim Romanov each scored 10 points as they were the only Lions to reach double figures in the loss. Southeastern now sits at 5-13 overall and 2-5 in the SLC.

Grambling fell to Prairie View A&M 57-64. The Tigers got 14 points from Travon Bunch, 11 points from Trevell Cunningham and 10 points from Ivy Smith, Jr. in the loss. Grambling drops to .500 over at 9-9 and is now 3-2 in SWAC play.
