Bigger teams profit once more, smaller market teams suffer greatly

Don’t fool yourself this the strategy of this whole thing. To take back the dominance of CFL from the southern smaller market teams.
What player is going to get to benefit from having their name printed on your foil hat?

If they don’t cap this it’s going to be outrageous.
Pretty sure that would still depend on what could be afforded by those who actually care about cfb.

The NCAA will allow athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness

I wouldn’t be so excited if I was y’all. If there’s not a cap, teams like usc, UCLA, Houston, Texas, will benefit in recruiting. More Fortune 500 companies and businesses to promote and sign endorsement deals! If you can get a 5* to sign a million dollar endorsement in LA, I don’t think LSU would be able to counter that pitch

Not really.
That dosen't mean it's not happening.

This isn’t just about college football. If football players are getting money then women’s basketball players are going to want money too.
This is going to be messy in the beginning.

Do UCLA fans care enough about football for that?

No, it doesn’t. If they don’t cap this it’s going to be outrageous.
Well, the NCAA can but universities, as these laws keep coming in, will not be able to cap, and the NCAA isn't going to just start losing all these schools so they won't have a choice but to cave.
Why will it be outrageous? Because what is already happening will become public?

the devil is going to be in the details...
we haven't heard from Title IX yet!!!!!!
one idea I do have is for all the walk-ons in the different sports to have autographed posters by all of them for sale...
there are ways for the little guys to make a few dollars out of this as well...

LSU will win the last ever college football national championship. Everything after that will be a different sport. Chance for something special here guys
Yep but really it's probably never been what it once was, so to speak. Meaning it was always about money and heavily influenced by money but now it will be so explicit that it can't be thought of the same by people who previously could look the other way.
I'm ready for the NFL to have a minor league and for college football to be played by those who can't make those teams.

Well, that's fine if they can make money on their likeness. The problem is that very few will be able to. It's going to be mostly men's FB and BB that have enough star power to make any money. Maybe the occasional baseball player like Bregman in places like BR.

Of course they can.

Players aren’t getting paid for public appearances right now. Players are still getting handshake deals.
Repeating that’s its already happening over and over again doesn’t make it a fact. This is a completely different level of payment.

And what happens when the 5* Freshman who’s getting all the attention gets paid more than a sophomore or junior who’s started for a year or two? You think these 18-21 year olds are going to handle this well?
This opens a can of worms that’s going to cause problems at every level if it’s a free market.

So many unintended consequences coming..

Bigger markets will still go after NFL players. Also, people with millions of dollars are usually smart enough to understand that an investing in an 18 year old kid isn’t the smartest decision. They won’t just hand out money. They’re not idiots.

Happens in the nfl. Might as well get used to it now

The dynamics of college football and basketball are about to change in ways that we really can’t entirely foresee, but I am not sure will be for the good of college sports overall, but great for a small number of schools and a small number of athletes.
