I'd assume this might benefit the bigger markets like L.A. unless there's a cap put on it.

Maybe there will now be less pressure to enter the draft prematurely?

Bigger markets don't necessarily translate the same way with college sports. more about alumni base and fan base than just the map.

So boosters can now buy 10,000 jerseys for certain players to "compensate them"? Then just toss em in the trash or send them to Africa.
They can pay athletes to make appearances at their businesses as spokespeople?
Where does this stop? I'm not "against it" per se, but they need some serious guardrails on this.

Bigger teams profit once more, smaller market teams suffer greatly

LSU will win the last ever college football national championship. Everything after that will be a different sport. Chance for something special here guys.

Not really.

But the guys that can or are willing to pay a star player 10k to sign autographs at some business will be far fewer in Ames, IA vs Columbus, OH. I'm not necessarily opposed to it. Just curious what rules will be involved.

I think you would be surprised. The people that have 10k to pay someone to sign in LA or NY can get a professional player that will be more widely known than a college player from UCLA or Syracuse.

They've laundered political kickbacks the same way with books for years.

Don’t fool yourself this the strategy of this whole thing. To take back the dominance of CFL from the southern smaller market teams.

Could not agree more. I am all in favor of rewarding these athletes that work so hard to provide a brand for their school to generate revenue. But this could very well lead down a slippery slope. I would imagine a ton of Bama players will be doing commercials for Dodge.

No, it doesn’t. If they don’t cap this it’s going to be outrageous.
