Help me make sense of this primary shite

So today I go vote and cast a vote for my guy, Abraham.
He loses. But, somehow I get to vote AGAIN, in a "runoff" for someone I don't want because he is better than the other guy?
My guy didn't make it. How do I get a do over and cast a vote for some phony bitch like Rispony?

C'mon. This was a primary. If no one gets more than 50%, the top two finishers have a run-off. It's not that difficult to understand.
