Also heard nobody took IV's at half...
I was wondering about this. The team practices and plays outdoors in Louisiana. The heat/humidity shouldn't be a shock to them. I was thinking at least some of them should have gotten IV at half. As we know true hydration happens in advance. Hopefully it was lessons learned.

Chill out dude. The sky isn’t falling. You have totally lost context of the game.
He hasn't lost context of the game. It was real. Who sends there starting players to the locker room during a game like this?

WHATEVER the reasons....and I've heard plenty in this thread....it's a bad look for this program. People were falling out like dominoes. We look like a bunch of panty-waisted pussies out there at times.

Two things - many of the cramping players missed a lot of camp with minor injuries that affected conditioning, and unlike Miles, Coach O does not want to burn up player legs too early in the season so that we have legs down the stretch.

we should have rotated more and played better D to get off the field. Plus it was a 4 plus hour game because of dozens of commercials

You’re getting downvoted, but I agree. Was clearly a much larger problem for LSU, why?
While our defense gave up a lot of yards and points, Texas really had to work for it. They’re drives in the second half took longer. I don’t know what the actual TOP was, but in the second half the defense was definitely out there a long time.

Oh my god you’re retarded. You have ZERO knowledge about sports medicine, strength and conditioning or nutrition. Stop peddling your crap like you know anything, because you don’t.

Divinity and Delpit had to go to locker room. That shouldn’t happen.

The players need more potassium and magnesium if they start cramping, especially the former. Also hydrating in advance. Excessive water intake after cramping in a game causes a person to lose minerals such as potassium and magnesium faster through sweating. The answer isn’t necessarily more water. It is mineral intake.

Exactly. By the time you’re cramping it’s probably too late to get replenished sufficiently by drinking anyway.

We need to evaluate our nutrition program relative to cramps.
Yes. The mouth breathers on here will say "oh it was a 100 degrees on Saturday". True but:
1) This has been going on FOR YEARS in all types of weather
2) Texas didn't seem to have issues
Go back and look through games from 2014,15, 16, 17 and 18. shite go back to Patrick Peterson. This isn't new. We always have more guys getting cramps than the opposition.

What you saw is a result of not getting off the field against an efficient spread offense. The defense got the life drained out of them on a 19 play drive. That is a BRUTAL drive for ANY defense. Any defense would have had the same issues. Before you bring up Texas’ defense vs. our offense, they weren’t on the field nearly as long. LSU’s offense scored quickly. Texas had to string more plays together to score.

Def, just peddling the issue at hand and it's hacks like you and others on this board that refuse to admit that this is one of the biggest problem within this staff. I'm buying that the 19 play drive emptied what was left in the D tank completely. We couldn't stop them according to O. D played their frickin arse off but the s/c and nutritionists if involved just about cost LSU this win. This is nothing new and at some point O will address this obvious issue. Hope it's sooner than later.

We need to evaluate our strength and conditioning coach as well. Our front guys looked soft to me always getting nicked up and they were pushed around a bit. I have been saying this for a few years. Alabama takes the high schools kids and turns them into feaks of nature monsters. Chaisson is the exception. Bama's guy is on the sidelines jumping up and down firing these kids up. They are always in shape. Might be knit picking here, but i do think there is something to this. Fire away
