Defensive talentt

First of all, we beat a very talented football team at their stadium last night. I too was disappointed with the defense. I think that we have to realize that there is currently no depth in the secondary and that does influence scheme. Obviously, Delpitt, Fulton, and Stingley are very good. There is a substantial drop-off after these players. Our line has some good players, but no one is elite. We have some nice recruits on board for the defense; let's hope we can sign them all. I think the defense will be OK, but depth is a huge concern.

We will be fine in defense. We played a very good QB with monster receivers.

I agree that Texas had a lot of talent, but when our starters leave the field we have a problem Look at the Central Florida game last year. I do agree that we will improve. It just might be that our best player is Stingley; we need Ricks to stay with LSU.

The lack of a pass rush factors into the DBs' play.

He did look good, but he needs to get bigger.

I too was not satisfied with the performance of the defense last night but let’s take a different look at it. On every team in America, from basketball, to baseball, to football, there’s a drop off in talent from ones to twos. We might be low in numbers at the cb position but to expect Stingleys back to be as good as him is retarded.
We had no three/four man rush. We needed to blitz to put pressure on the qb and our lbs just like any other lb in the country it’s hard to cover a slot receiver in space.
ITS WEEK TWO! Can we all have a little patience and let this team mold and get more reps under there belts before we start panicking please.

The Texas offensive line was a wall. LSU couldn't get pressure on Ehlinger with 4. I give their offensive line a ton of credit, but I do question why Aranda didn't dial up more pressure throughout the game? It seemed to work pretty well when they sent a LB up the middle or off the edge for extra pressure.

LSU and it’s fans need to stay on top of Elias Ricks and make sure he becomes a Tiger.

Agreed...Watched the game with my Dad, and we could not understand why Aranda sat back so much....Almost every series....Why is he on the sideline.....Get up top from the press box, and he could see more.....BLITZ!!!!!!!!

Their LT did a great job against Chaisson. Was just stoning him.

yeah but why couldn't we stop the run, get pressure on qb and also were totally abused physically.

The same D that stuffed them on the goal line 2 times early in the game.
