According to The Advocate, Joe Burrow is on a hot streak since the end 2018, Burrow is the first QB at LSU to complete 20 or more passes in four consecutive games.

It was reported earlier in the paper that after the Alabama debacle, Orgeron decided to turn Joe Burrow loose and not look back. Wise decision. Make it five consecutive games after this weekend versus Texas.

I've been saying that after the Bama game, the "light" turned on for Joe... maybe it was just that they were limiting him and took the cuffs off. If that's true...

*trigger warning

First thing I thought reading the OP was f les miles and Jordan Jefferson (not his fault CLM kept playing him but damn was he not a good QB).

The last 5-6 years of Miles era was brutal. So glad those days are behind us!

I think the same thing every time Burrow is breaking a record. Our passing history is a such a joke.

There's always going to be the media over hyping a game to build interest in a game but this is going to be a blowout

Basically, if you can have a career better than a year and change of oft-injured Rohan Davey then you can own all of the records.

How many schools out there could a QB have a historic season with 3,500 yards and 30 touchdowns?

Well, considering there have been over 100 QBs with 35 or more TDs in a season and over a hundred QBs with 4000 or more yards in a season, probably not many.

Man, I knew it was bad but I didn't realize quite how bad until I looked at the stats. And you were being generous with 3500 and 30, it could be done with fewer than that....

I'd think quite a few, actually. the teams that run more spread passing stuff and/ or play in conferences not known much for defense probably have hit that a few times. but a lot of teams have been more run-oriented/ balanced and have only hit those numbers recently, if at all.

I was surprised that Ro or Jamarcus hadn't done this. even more surprised that JR didn't have any back to back 20 completion games in 06. I knew he was good for 18-22 type games, but wow.

I talked about this over and over again last September while Burrow was struggling with completion percentage. I said just like Mett in 2012 he’d have a big end to the season and set himself up for a big next season. It looks like that’s what happened.

Burrow has improved since Alabama, that helped cement Orgeron’s decision. Yes, the new spread offense helped, but Burrow was perfect on every type of throw in the opener.
