My thoughts are if we contain Ehlinger in the running game we win the game if we play our game!
After re-watching the game specifically focusing on UT playing that conclusion is not hard to get to.
With Georgia it was so evident that the players just shipped it in. You could tell their hearts were not into the game, and the heart is the driver to win. Their tackling was atrocious in the game, and without a doubt had a “huge” impact in the outcome of the game! Now some of that you have to credit UT for because they were jacked up and ready to fight to the death “that was definitely not UGA’s attitude.” But it had more to do with UGA’s heart in that game then UT’s toughness in regards to their tackling.
Regarding UT, they won that game because of their heart and intensity and will to want to win! They caught UGA at the right time for that.
Regarding UT as our opponent, it is all going to come down to our front 7 vs their Oline!!! If Ehlinger is able to do to our front 7 in the running dept as he did to UGA, I don’t think we win and if we do it will be end of the game type stuff. We just need to contain him on the ground and everything else should fall into place, because Ehlinger is a really good QB but only average to above average passer! His WR’s make him look good as a QB, meaning they definitely caught balls that were not good passes and bailed him out! I don’t think Sam can be that effective against our back end, but there is a big catch!!
What I saw in the UGA game is that after a few hits the DB’s were not liking tackling him AT ALL. He was punishing them and you could see it in their play! Our DB’s won’t fare any better than UGA’s if he gets to that level because he is way too physical for them! He is more physical than Tebow and that is saying something!
That is why it is THE key in this upcoming game to not allow Ehlinger to get to the 2nd level running it. If we can contain that aspect of his game LSU leaves with a W.
If we can’t, we’ll then that is when this game really starts to get interesting!!!!

Their offense was not very explosive vs Georgia or all year really. Watch the slants and screens, contain ehlinger. Media keeps hyping up how they "manhandled" Georgia, but lsu dominated that same Georgia team in all facets of the game, and they where MUCH more hyped to play in tiger stadium than the sugar bowl. I think theres a higher chance lsu blows out Texas than their is Texas beats lsu

We need to not take Ehlinger lightly. That kid is very good and he's a tough runner. He's no Tebow but he's tough.
Texas did lose a lot on defense so I do think we win that game but we need to keep him in the pocket and take away his run threat.
That kid is no pushover.

I don’t disagree at all! What I saw said the same thing! God awful tackling by UGA cost them the game! Tigers don’t do that!
I was just saying from watching the UT/UGA game, the key to victory is containing Ehlinger’s running, and that should do it!

Georgia was ready to play, they just got beat by a better team that day. People love to say Georgia just wasn’t ready to play because it makes them feel better about the upcoming game against Texas.

Find something better to do.

This, and no turnovers.

No doubt about their intensity.

Not sure why all the downvotes. I think you are pretty spot on.
Texas will be very physical. Our defense will have to be ready to hit him hard all game. They are going to line up and pound him and then try to beat us over the top. I hope we are ready for a bloodbath, because that is what Herman is transforming them into around that QB. He wants defenses to say no mas.
Herman will have a very sound game plan. This will be no cakewalk. I predict we will have to score to match them early so I hope our offense is humming against their inexperienced D.
ETA: What hurt Georgia was the fact that Fromm couldn’t hit his receivers at all and that gave Texas all the momentum.

Part of it was Georgia’s “lack of enthusiasm” in that game but honestly, it’s more about Georgia was just overrated. They are a poorly coached but extremely talented team. Sound familiar to anyone? Kirby Smart is Les Miles 2.0 but far less likable.
Remember, that Texas team lost to Maryland and Oklahoma State and barely beat Tulsa and Kansas State.

DEAD WRONG
My best Friend is a UGA alumni and die hard die hard dawg fan with a ton of sauces. He called me the day before the game and told me to bet everything I had on Texas because UGA was just gonna show up. That their season ended when they didn't make the playoffs.

The reason they lost is because Bevo almost gored Uga. UGA has a bully tactic they employ every game. Essentially, come out and hit them in the mouth to intimidate the opponent and UGA will win. It didn't work against LSU and it didn't work against Texas. Texas was up 20-7 in the first quarter and not much else happened the rest of the game offensively for either team.

Nothing from that game is useful this year. Texas is a completely different team now that's lost a ton of players. UGA had zero desire to be there.

Does not matter.... that was last year.......

I took away uga had a slow start and warmed up as the game went on. I think we just need to jump on Texas so we never lose control. Basic stuff really affect their game plan.

I am glad that the game is at night so it will be a bit cooler

EHlinger was their 3rd leading rusher last year. He scored 16 of their 24 rushing touchdowns. Point taken.

Your dead wrong brah, the sloppy tackling is the tell tale sign of a team not being prepared to play! You would know that if you had played at a high level!

That is a given really, I said we have to play “our game” that would indicate that!
