I think your post pretty much nails all us Louisiana born and raised people that have left the state because opportunity outside the state was just too good.

I spent more time this spring/summer in Nola than I had in a decade.
Two undeniable things:
Food is great. I don’t get the bad service comments. Never experienced that.
Everything else is a giant shitshow. Stupid arse people left and right even in the suburbs. Very hard to get basic business done because people are so incompetent and or just stupid.
