I’ve got an 8 year old F1 Golden Doodle (her dad was a standard poodle and mom was a Golden Retriever).
She only barks when she sees someone she doesn’t recognize or hears an unfamiliar noise and has excellent boundaries.
A couple of things to consider are grooming costs/frequency and the amount of spare time you have to give for proper exercise, they can get bored quickly.
If you’re concerned about shedding, look into the F1b. If you’re wanting a curly Doodle, be sure to ask the breeder about their “+” and “-“ hair gene.
I have a friend who bred their Golden Doodles once (they aren’t breeders) and had 8 puppies. For them, it wasn’t worth it, but everyone is different.

Somebody that didn’t have time for one gave us ours.
Things I don’t like about him:
-He’ll have an accident occasionally
-Mother fricker thinks it’s his job to dig a hole and lay in the dirt and watch our other dog run around... So his curly coat carries a shite ton of dust. It is a ridiculous amount if you don’t sweep every couple days.
-Kind of a pussy
Otherwise, we’re on good terms. I’d like him a lot more if it weren’t for the dust, but what do I do? I would feel bad if we let one dog out and made the doodle stand at the window and watch him play.

I have a Golden Retriever and a Golden Doodle. Both are the most loving and smart dogs I have ever owned. They both shed but the Retriever is horrible but she likes to be outside and sleeps in my shop at night.
The Golden Doodle stays in the house and she sheds a little but most of the hair is heavy and stays on the floor.

My brother got one as a puppy. Did not properly train him. Now he’s a big puppy that they are having issues with handling now that they have a baby
Is also very territorial and goes after my saint of a dog when we are at his house or my parents house.
Maybe with proper training? But this one has turned me against them. Hyper as hell too.
Plus they’re hideous.
I can’t put up with a big, hideous, a-hole of a dog.

We have a three year old golden doodle-best dog I’ve ever had by far-he’s a big boy but never sheds and is so good with kids. Expensive but the best.

We got one a little over year ago. Ours is a female and the F1b genetic line. Does not shed at all. That was the main reason I gave in on one. Really smart dog. We got ours from Lonestar Doodles around the Fort Worth area.
