There are a few places in Texas that sells them. The one pictured and in the link below is made by a company called lyfetyme. A friend of mine has one. Thing is a tank, weighs like 600-800 lbs. His is like 25 years old out in the weather and seems indestructible.
I would love to purchase one but I’m trying to avoid driving all the way to Texas to haul it home. I got a shipping quote on this model, and it would be $850.00 to ship it near the Houma area.

Does anyone know of any places in South Louisiana that make similar style grill offset smoker/pits?

Don't know the answer to your ? but I'm enjoying imagining the expression on the faces of your future moving company.

I have no clue about south La, but I bought one from Lang Smokers in Ga, and had one of my drivers go after it. Bought the 48” reverse offset smoker, love it.

There's a place called "BBQGuys" that is allegedly headquartered in Baton Rouge. They sell the "Texas Original" pits and their website shows free shipping.
Wondering though, how much are you looking to spend?

It looks like it would tip over the second you tried to roll it up on the wheels

Yeah, that thing doesn't look 'safe' at all.

If you have a buddy that can weld, it might be cheaper to just build one

quote:well there is some level of design that goes into stick burner pits with smoker size, fire box size, and exhaust size and location. I really dont know of any place in LA. But when im ready to buy one im getting either a Jambo or a lone star grillz

It looks that way but it’s balanced well
Notice how much of the weight is to the right side of the wheel vs the tower side.
And I’m looking to go around 1500$-1700
That lyfetyme put pictured like about 1300-1500
But shipping is 850

quote:just because the look the same doesnt mean anything. next time you see one at academy open it up and feel the size of the walls. you want 1/4" or more. The ones at academy are more likely 1/16" or less.

Shirley Fabrications in Tuscaloosa makes the best offset in my opinion.
Backwoods Smokers is Louisiana, but they don’t do offsets. They are vertical insulated.
I can’t think of any Louisiana based fabricators offhand.

Lone Star is in Conroe Texas. That isn't too far away.

Yeah those academy ones are weak sauce
These heavy gauge pits will last a lifetime

Academy does stock Old Country pits which, if you get into the larger ones ARE 1/4" steel. They have some larger offset as well as vertical smokers, but they don't make one that is a combo of the 2 in the heavy gauge.

I would be interested in something like this, that’s all welded together
Not needing to be put together.
