The biggest thing of all is this will 100% be a talking point regarding how a shooter was able to kill 18 people in a Walmart in open carry Texas without getting shot back. It works out so well for anti-gun people.

Maybe it works out well for them because some of their points are correct? Just like the pro-gun people are correct after mass killings in California or other countries with tough gun control laws. Both points of view are irrelevant. The reality is that there is no way to prevent mass shootings without becoming a Minority Report-level police surveillance state. We’ve entered a new era where the depressed or crazy know they can get attention if they kill enough people. The jihadis showed us how to do it. If the perpetrator doesn’t care about getting away, he becomes unstoppable. Open carry doesn’t stop it. Gun control doesn’t stop it. The solution isn’t more guns or less guns, it is to stop paying attention, but how are we going to do that?

When it comes to mass shootings they are the #1

Most mass shootings are in very poor predominately black or hispanic neighborhoods. They don't make the major news cycles because narrative.

The Israelis have a great system involving resiliency training. Wouldn't work here because victimhood is worth more.

I've never seen a single (non law enforcement) person open carrying in almost two decades of living in Texas. Hell, walmart may be 30.06 and/or 30.07 signed. Never really paid any attention.

Find that surprising as it isn't terribly uncommon to see in WI. Not a daily occurrence but not rare either.

Don’t think this one was a CIA gun deal gone wrong.

In the very briefest terms, they train you to be more resilient.

A lot of places in TX are 30.06/30.07. That's a statue that says any private property owner can simply put up a proper sign barring concealed or open carry from their property. A lot of restaurants and stores do. And that's their right. Totally cool.

I'd imagine it makes open carry kinda inconvienient if you're out running errands and the like.

Actually, it turns out he's a black, gay , muslim that underwent surgery to make him look like a white guy.
Muslims are sneaky...especially the black, gay ones.
