Ot lawyers: what’s your opinion on female lawyers wearing no sleeves to court?

It’s hot as frick outside, and we’re required to wear coats and ties in court. It pisses me off that women attorneys are allowed to wear skirts and no sleeves. We should be treated equally. If I want to wear a tank top, I should be allowed to!

I think your standard orange jumpsuit won't overheat you too much.

I should be allowed to wear a skirt in court as well!!!

Whoever thought of the idea that the most uncomfortable hottest shite to wear is the most professional should be burning in hell right now.

I made an appearance at an arraignment for a defendant in Gretna.

24 hours later, I made another appearance in the same courthouse with me as the defendant.

Still in the same suit, sans tie and shoelaces

I don't really care I guess, but it isn't professional. I would advise younger female lawyers against it. The older ones probably already know better.

Saw Judge Medley dress down (pun intended) a female attorney for going sleeveless. Probably the quickest and most definitive ruling he ever made from the bench.

I was at calendar call this morning and this chick had on no sleeves short dress and flats. Too bad she is 20 years past her prime because she has a decent body for her age. I’m sitting there sweating my arse off in my suit and tie. I’m in South Florida. It’s hot as frick.

I'll allow it. Unless they are fat. Then move for contempt.

1. Have a tailor remove the sleeves from one of your shirts and jackets. You will still technically be within the dress code.
2. ????

I am currently in law school, and they tell the women in our class that sleeveless is not formal and shouldn't be done in court. But I don't think it matters
