Put out some salt licks. Every time I put out Stuff like big and J or Soybeans right now it never gets touched. Trying to keep my heard happy! What you guys doing?

I sling some arrows at my target about once a week

I started shooting my bow daily last week. I hadn't shot since March and I have lost about 20 lbs since then. The sucker is really freaking hard to pull back now, I may have to turn it down before season if it doesn't get any easier.

That's a good way to develop bad form...ha!
I had to completely reevaluate my form this year. Started shooting again after not shooting for 4 or 5 months (a bad habit I find myself getting into), and my shots were all over the place. Started watching John Dudley's "School of Nock" videos, and made some adjustments to the way I was shooting, and BAM! Shooting a hell of a lot better now.
I try to shoot 4 or 5 times a week, 30 to 40 arrows a session. Had been shooting at 20 yds every session, but decided yesterday to back it up to 30 and 40 on a few ends to start working on my accuracy at a distance. First shot at 40, I jerked it and barely hit the side of the target. Still need a lot of work, lol!

ordering a new deer stand frame today. When it's done, I'll go pick up in Ruston and box it in with plywood and carpet the inside and add shelves, windows, etc.

I watched the 3 episodes on foot placement, grip, and front shoulder and those helped tremendously.

1. Getting my bow string replaced this weekend. Will start shooting again in the near future.
2. Put out a couple mineral licks a couple weeks ago. Late but better than never. Also scouted a couple new spots.
3. Picked up a couple ladderstands as I come across online deals here and there
4. Will start running a couple cameras towards the end of august

I swerved to miss a fawn last week in hopes that it will be in front of my rifle this fall

I put out corn a couple weeks ago, but forgot to get a soil sample for my food plots. I checked my camera while I was there yesterday, and nothing but daily visits from coons so far. Looks like fly bait time.

Got in another club 10 minutes from the house. They shoot small deer, 14” spread 8 point or better. I guess I will see how it is, at least it’s close to the house.

This is how I'm preparing. By making room for more deer meat. I'm not getting in the woods in July unless I'm looking for a golf ball.

I took a 2 year break from bow hunting and I had bad form before that, I'm trying to get better with form but it still does not feel comfortable as I hunted with bad form for about 10 years. If I'm not comfortable come September I'm using the xbow again.

Not going to be much of (if any) 2019 deer season for us, due to the water
Hoping for more time on Ducks and redfish this year.
