We were not hunting. He lived beside a soybean field and I used a drainage ditch for cover to get close. Then I crawled a ways through the beans until I was 75 yards away in a tree line. Was going to slip off after the shot into the darkness.figured no one would be able to mark the shot that way. I was young,pissed off and going through the worst experience of my life to that point. I am so glad I didn’t shoot. Had even exhaled a half breath and started the squeeze.
