Hes doing okay. Thats about it.
2019 recruiting class,
Georgia has 3 lineman of their top 5
Alabama has 3 lineman of their top 5
Lsu just 1 lineman of top 5.
It was an amazing class but where exactly did our lineman recruiting improve?
Thanks
2020 current committs = 0 lineman anywhere near the top

It’s all about the records. If he goes 11-1 or better, everyone will be on board. 10-2 is acceptable but would feel like the ceiling. Anything worse and he will be under a lot of pressure, rightfully.

Super Regionals are tomorrow and LSU football has a great team returning and you come up with this on a Friday night?

Yeah. I quit smoking today, and this was bothering me right now.

Results > recruiting rankings. Some correlation but not absolutely. Just because a kid fully matures in high school doesn't mean he'll be the best OL/DL at 20. Not saying we're winning in trench development and performance, but recruiting is like NFL draft hype. Doesn't matter even a year later.

That's about what we see on the field, just OK. (Cheerleader Mediocrity Acceptors are just fine with being OK)
LSU has not upgraded the talent level and numbers in both the DL and OL enough to make a legit move on Bama.
We're now losing ground to Fisher at A&M and Mullen at Florida.
Tigers need to be signing 2-3X as many OL'S/DL's.
Don't know why this is such a hard concept to understand for the Head Coach......

Evenn worse: 3 of our Top 5 are WR's. Just like the "window dressing" recruiting classes Miles used to bring in his last 3-4 years.

I'm sure that the coaching staff understands recruiting and have linemen on both sides of the ball lined up. Posters here that think that they know recruiting better than the coaches should send their resumes in to the athletic department.

Is this the best timing for this thread? Probably not considering we should be good this year and also have a super regional we should all be excited about.
That said, what the OP posted is a legit concern. For a HC who specializes in the trenches, he hasn't done a great job of building up either side. It's a legit concern that's always dismissed by people like you. You're too concerned with defending him, you can't even be objective about it. It's a shame and a bad look for you and the others like you.
Oh yea, btw, it's a message board. It's where fans go to ask questions like this. Quit responding with dumb shite like "are you a coach ddeeeerrrrr?", "what's your coaching resume that makes you qualified deeeerrrrrrrrr?", or my favorite "how much money have you made coaching compared to O deeerrrrrrrrr?".

I feel I owe you and Lunatik an apology for the shitstorm I got the two of you in last night regarding Buckeye Jeaux and his meltdown over what Goldrush and I said about Joe Burrow.
No hard feelings I hope.

Why are we top-heavy on skill players? Because that’s what LA produces in spades. Here’s a thread—on the recruiting board where this one belongs—that gives some numbers for 2020.
Thread on Recruiting Board
The staff is obviously hitting the trails hard out of state this cycle and they are in on the best linemen in LA.

The staff just has to get those linemen to LSU....put up time....

Bradford is coming from a territory rare for Tiger recruiting - Michigan. He is quality and so is Kardell.
You're obviously looking to bash Coach O.

Why don’t we wait until the recruiting cycle is complete before we stress about who we didn’t get? Can we fricking chill out for a sec? Signing day is in 9 months! LSU is in on plenty of DL/OL who would be great for us, and at this point they are just as likely to come to LSU as anywhere else. O knows we need lineman and is going after who we need, let’s wait and see if he gets them rather than assume he doesn’t.

quote:Roy KILLED Kardell head to head and he was a Jr. he was pumping LSU hard until he decommitted. He is looking like he is headed to Bama. I simply don’t understand how a kid like him who is extremely polite, honest and has honor leaves. Don’t give me “kids need to leave home” bull shite because you don’t know this kid or his mother. Total BS happening right now with DLINE RECRUITS.

So it's a bad look to know and understand that the coaches know more about football and are aware of what's needed. They also have information on recruits that the average fan doesn't have.
It's not about defending O. It's realizing that they know more about recruiting than me or you or just about anybody else in this forum. I can't imagine that you think that you know more than the coaches about what they're doing.
Is there a legit issue moving forward about certain positions ? Yeah we all want the best players at every position but to go all chicken little at this time when LSU is onto several good linemen seems a little premature.
Again I can't imagine how thinking, no knowing that the coaches are more informed about the current recruiting situation than the average message board poster could be a bad look for anyone or how it could be considered an opinion lacking objectivity. I'm sure that it's true for most college football programs so it's nothing revolutionary.

Psychics. I’m surrounded by people who can see the future and can’t wait to start crying about it. I didn’t know psychic powers turned people into pussies. Huh.
