I say it because I am emphasizing why it is important to prevent the pregnancy in the first place. So you don't have to make those tough decisions.

Well of course.

And, yes, it it mostly liberals who were/are pushing for more education and access to contraceptives
Frankly, speaking from DIRECT experience on the subject with my oldest daughter, the friggin problem is that liberals just couldn't fricking help themselves. They took "sex education" which they argued was about preventing pregnancy and the next thing you knew, teaching 10 year olds about two mommys made the curriculum cut. Which, frankly, many of us could see coming from a mile away.

It's much better now, but it was not easy to get here.

With my current daughter, when the permission slip for her first sex ed class came up, I said "no".

Not because I oppose teaching her. I'm no prude whatsoever as many on this board are aware.

And, it was funny. Asst. Principal actually called me to ask why and told me about how strict the curriculum was. I said. Great. Let me ask you a question. If my daughter, upon hearing the teaching, chooses to ask a question substantially OUTSIDE of the curriculum...........can you guarantee me that the teacher's ONLY available response will be, "that's something you should speak to your parents about?"

Principal admitted he could make no such guarantee. So. I said thanks, I got this.

Sounds superior to the abstinence only education peddled by some conservatives.

Hey guys, let's just tell the kids not to have sex AT ALL

Hey, as long as they learn. Promoting ignorance is not good policy.
