OOC for basketball next year not shaping up well

Non-conf so far
BGSU
VCU
Nicholls
ULM
UNO
Northwestern State
East Tennessee State
@ USC
Liberty
Jamaica tourney
So far, not great. I like BGSU, VCU, ETSU, Liberty and even USC will at least be NET 100ish probably. Nicholls, ULM, UNO, NWST and a lot of that Jamaica tourney will be some garbage though. Hopefully we can add 1 more decent OOC team to the schedule to close out through SEC-Big 12 challenge.

Looks like Liberty and USC also? Unless I’m misreading the link.

Sorry about that, added in, fricking ad put them way down the page on the schedule. Liberty is a real solid add, USC is similar to Northwestern.

We'll have a Big 12 school too for the challenge. Rumor is its Kansas State or TCU.

Not me, I said several times over going into the season it was good with a lot of sneaky decent games. This is not that great by comparison, but can at least be lifted up by a Big 12 team in the challenge and praying for a few quality teams in the Jamaica challenge. Last year Jamaica wasn't particularly great, right now it's us Utah State (GOOD) and Rhode Island (meh). Hopefully we definitely play Utah State.
Personally I wonder if we're having some trouble scheduling due to the FBI thing. There's some good/sneaky decent teams on this schedule right now, but it's not as good as last year.

SC game could be interesting.
Signed #2 recruiting class last year.
Couple of five stars coming in.
But Andy Enfield is HC, so we will lose.

I trust Wade knows what he is doing. Most of us don't know a small percentage of what he does regarding all of the factors he uses to devise the schedule.

Are we playing Northwestern, Northwestern State or both?

I have no doubt Wade knows what he WANTS to do, but I also think the FBI thing is not helping the scheduling process, either.

That makes zero sense

Not sure what's hard to follow, obviously we've been in the negative spotlight for a while now due to the FBI thing, a lot of teams are probably not very willing to want to schedule us not knowing what the immediate future holds. No doubt Wade has ruffled a bunch of feathers too.
It's not a terrible OOC, but it's certainly not as good as last year's as it stands.

The schedule isn’t as good but the team won’t be as good either. And this schedule isn’t terrible assuming you get a decent Big 12 team and a couple of good games in Jamaica. BG, VCU, and Liberty aren’t bad. The only two I don’t get are NW and USC. If we are playing Power 5 schools I would rather play ones that don’t suck.

And they wonder why they can't sell tickets.
One or two decent non conf home games would at least sell a couple more season tickets

K-State game should be in Manhattan. TCU game would most likely be in Baton Rouge.
K-State is probably going to be down next year, so wouldn't be a strong OOC game. LSU would probably rather see TCU to help its SOS.

I said the same thing last season and LSU ended up having one of the best OOC SOS's in the country. Thus, I'll trust Wade this season.
I still would like to see a "big" home game in December to generate fan interest going into SEC play. But those games are relatively hard to schedule
