I just asked the question that has been danced around in multiple threads.

I’m no fan of Jimbo, but this sudden swarm of O defenders has me puzzled.

All Ed has to do is win. That’s it. His job is safe.

As of right this minute, Jimbo has a better resume.

And the speculation surrounding both is bizarre.

No he doesn't. Not over the past 3 seasons.

Why 3? Why not their entire head coaching careers?

Cutting Jimbo out of his NC is convenient.

Cause O has been the HC at LSU for 3 years.

And Jimbo bought him a Natty QB... like Chizik bought him one.

If you call him Dumbo and Saban apparently doesn’t have to even prepare to beat him, what does it say that he beat O on his first try?

I'd love to hear you explain why that's hilarious. Let's compare the last time both teams played them.

A&M put up 23 points on their defense on the road. LSU was embarassed on both sides of the ball at home. Why again is it funny to say A&M's closer to beating them?

It’s funny when you ask the question in such a straight forward manner.

I’m willing to bet you can’t name more than 3 of Fisher’s assistants without looking them up
Well it's pretty easy to name 2 since they came from LSU.

Jimbo will reach a good level of wins but A&M will regret the hire due to the stupid amount of $.
Jimbo is a good coach but not great, he rode WInston till the end.
As soon as he was gone, so was FSU. Jimbo, the great coach, should have had a back up ready.

He is another darling of the media and will be "held up" by them....
THIS WILL MARK THE END OF JIMBO....
...as soon as TEXAS has one or two years w better record than A&M....and BTW.. TEXAS has an easier path to winning.

Ben laughs in the face of the sobering fact that Jimbo scored more than twice as many points on Bama in one try than O has in three

No I laugh in your face because of your monumental stupidity. Everybody knows that LSU had problems along the offensive line last season. Also the pass blocking schemes that handcuffed the offense. I don't know why you people harp on this. If you know why LSU struggled it doesn't make sense to continue to cry about it. Most of you would rather ignore these facts in favor of a supposed talking point. What are you trying to get at? That those same issues will be a factor in the next game? Well they won't so I don't understand harping on it. Other than you just like to cry about it. Posters are still bringing up troy like it's relevant 3 years later. Everybody knows about it so what are you trying to do by bringing it up? Is that really your idea of a constructive conversation? LSU will field a much better team this fall and if you don't think so you haven't been paying attention.

Because jimbo isn't winning over 8 games this fall. Are you still going to be calling for jimbo to replace O when LSU wins 11 games this fall and jimbo wins 8? I bet you and a substantial number of people on this board will still be crying for Woodward to replace O with jimbo. I just hope I'm here to laugh at you.

Overall I believe Orgeron is a better leader of a program than fisher. Fisher left Florida state with a 12 and 9 record over his last 21 games and in complete disarray.

In all fairness didn't jimbo have an issue with the leadership of FSU which led to him mailing it in the last couple of years? Which that calls into question jimbos professionalism.

Jimbo created a lot of enemies because of his POLITICS to rush Bowden out the door.

Winston really won the Natty ... as soon as gone, FSU went down.
Jimbo facilitated the wins...especially "ignoring" some mishaps, possibly criminal in nature", along the way.

I totally understand where you are coming from. High salaries lead to unrealistic expectations and previous achievements. Right now O is achieving at an incredible level considering his salary and prehire standing.
Jimbo has an almost impossible level of expectation on his shoulders. O not so much.

With what Jimbo earns he had better be in the playoffs every year.
