He does appear to be smart enough to realize, if he’s one of the chosen, then why doesn’t it feel like it? Where are the high fives and the ticker tape parades?
Rather than ponder the question though, he chooses to bury the thought, and find comfort in feeling smug.
Still the thought is back there, and it bothers him, like a primordial itch.
