Las Cruces. I'm not sure what you like, I lived in Alamagordo at the AFB for 6 years as a kid and went there often.
I'm not sure Las Cruces is an improvement over anywhere in Louisiana unless you absolutely love the few things it offers.

Depends on the area.
Wife lived in Albuquerque for 2 1/2 years for grad school and reasonably enjoyed it. Beautiful town, well laid out, etc. Climate isn’t all that great (no grass yards unless you pay out the nose for a water, hot AF in the summers, snow and ice in the winter, etc) and the people suck.
If it’s Santa Fe, it’s a nice enough town, but boring overall.

First of all you will have to change your TD name. Are you prepared for that?

New Mexico is a worse state than Louisiana lmfao

Half-joking.
In the years I spend going out there to see my wife, the people we interacted with (grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc) were just so god-awful dry (pun intended) in their personalities. For example, if you ask how someone's day is going in passing conversation (i.e. the clerk at a gas station while paying), you get a blank stare and no response. Your server at a restaurant doesn't make casual small-talk or even smile half the time. Instead, they ask for your order, bring your food, and show back up with the check. Of course there were exceptions, but for the most part, the people were just weird. It's almost like it was a city full of introverts.
It's probably just a cultural difference (i.e. Louisianians vs New Yorkers), but everyone seemed so damn dry all the time out there.

Are you and Port Hudson Playa related?

So you're going to leave a state that has an abyssal education system for a state that is worse?

Anywhere but Hobbs, NM. Lived there and it was a total shithole. Might as well be Old Mexico!

Pretty state, but lots of sand, dry as all hell, not much else to do except look at cactus, illegals, and the occasional tumble weed

Santa Fe is OK but past that you have places like Roswell and Farmerville which are really halfassed.
Don’t you mean Farmington?
I moved to NM to work right out of college and then came back. Biggest mistake I ever made. I should have stayed out there.
It’s a beautiful state with a lot to do. Go for it..
