Too bad it went out of style imo.
A fair argument could be made that if it hadn't, you'd have more civil order today.
Unless you believe today's criminal element has any fear or respect for the rule of law.
(Inner city beefs over drug turf/looking at someone funny/etc don't count. That's a huge part of the problem, as anyone who's honest will admit.)

Plus the Costner movie was mostly made in Louisiana, but the '67 flick was filmed at real Bonnie and Clyde sites in Texas.
Bonnie and Clyde were killed in Gibsland Louisiana.

My Father-in-law 'ran' with Henry Methvin after he got out of jail in 42. This was around Heflin Louisiana. Methvin died in 48 from a 'train accident'. Pops said it was no accident. Hummmmmm

Because the feds used higher caliber rifles
Most officers in the early 30s used .38 specials not .45 calibers. And tommy guns were .45 but apparently they had trouble when shooting the cars. The video I watched said the flathead V8 ford cars were like driving a armored vehicle at the time. I’m guessing when shooting from a considerable distance (over 30 yards) those calibers couldn’t penetrate.

Seems like an extrajudicial killing violating their right to trial.
It was exactly that. The perps in this case were given the Jussie Smollet plan before there was a Jussie

One tenth of a second before firing the officers shouted: 'Put your hands up.' Bonnie and Clyde were just too slow.
Edit: True story. Years ago a guy shot and killed an officer in Georgia. He was spotted in the woods hiding crouched behind a fallen tree. The leader of the posse shouted 'Come out with young hands up.' He waited two seconds and then shouted 'Fire!'
The coroner reported that the deceased had 30 bullet wounds. I saw the TV interview later that day:
Reporter: 'Why did you shoot the suspect 30 times?'
Sheriff: 'We ran out of bullets.'

Might have lived a bit longer if they would not have painted "The Bonnie & Clyde Car" on the vehicle.

Deputy prentiss Oakley admitted several times that he was the first to fire and was prematurely. His first shot was a head shot to Barrow. Died instantly. The car was in first gear. When barrow's foot released off the accelerator, the car lurched forward. The other officers thought barrow was getting away and all hell rained down. T.y.

Believe they were mercenaries and local law, not "feds."

It was 1934 and they killed 9 cops so yeah they were never gonna see a trial.

No. Feds had nothing to do with it.

It was legal because both Bonnie and Clyde stated publicly that they were going to fight to the death every time they were going to be pursued by police. Those men that liquidated them knew there was no way B and C were going to hold up their hands and surrender. It was suicide by cop technically. I’ve put a lot of thought into suicide by cop and Bonnie and Clyde were not going to be arrested. It was fight to the death and the cops fired first. If you think Bonnie or Clyde would have surrendered peacefully, you didn’t understand them at all.
