Oh thanks. THIS WHOLE frickING TIME I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE frickING TEACHER. Never is it a response that they try to pay extra attention to the kid, try to make sure this kid is grasping something or following along. NEVER.

You think a teacher should just neglect the rest of their class because your kid is slow?

Nothing like a parent who wants 365 days of instruction in 180-ish days. And for free.

Yeah, most teachers can’t teach, and when they do, administrators badger them to change grades so kids will pass. They are on an island with no backing, treading water in a thankless job. Feel sorry for the future in all honesty, but our leaders want dumb, uneducated voters......And they got them on the way....

You ain’t lying. There’s a whole bunch of dumbshit in this thread.

Teachers have more put on them now than ever. We’re expected to raise your goddamn kids for you.

It’s ridiculous.

This. Not saying you are. Just sounds like you are abdicating all responsibility for your kids education and are leaving it up to the school.

Your kids need all the extra help they can get if they're going to break the cycle of ignorance that your genes have locked them into.

Welcome to classroom size of 28 - 32 students. This is what you get for having low, low property taxes and shite schools.

That high? Like 21 K-4 in Cy-Fair ISD regulations

It isn’t a money thing. Louisiana spends almost $2000 more per student than Texas.

You cant take piano lessons, never practice between lessons then blame the teacher because you cant play. Academics are no different, regardless of the teacher, or school more of the learning takes place at home doing the assignments, if there is difficulty in a subject more work at home is going to be required. The main difference between good students and bad students is the degree of parental involvement.

As a teacher, let me just let you in on a secret. Schools are good at one thing, teaching your kids to follow the rules (conformity to a standard).

Historically those who have wanted to learn have done so by reading, researching, trying, failing, and trying again until they succeeded in acquiring the knowledge or skills they sought. It’s laughable you think public school would provide what you think your kid requires.

Reading and basic math can be taught in less than 100 hours of contact time with a child.

The public school has these students for 12 years and the majority I teach still can’t read, write, or do math. Time to destroy this system and try something else.

But to your point, you are the parent. Teach your own freaking child. Waiting on public schools to do it means you may have been left behind yourself.

Federal meddling, legislation, lawsuits, and uninvolved parents have destroyed public education. Teachers mostly have their hands tied at how they have to teach and instruct by people who never step foot in a school. I can say the two goals of public education are as followed....at least as I’ve seen in a high school setting.

1) doctor graduation rates so the federal dollars keep coming in.
2) try to avoid lawsuits.

Did you ask if he was getting extra help at school? As a parent you have a responsibility to help your student.

so the teacher should spend extra time with you kid and ignore the other 24. Oh and by the way said teacher has 45 minutes per class, while you have 3 or 4 times as much to reinforce the lesson . So to you i say
