For those who don't know, Beth Moore is an American evangelist and Bible teacher. She is very popular among Millennial SJW Christians
I'm trying to make sense of her comments. Not sure what it means that "the gospel has become bad news to the poor, oppressed etc."
Thoughts?

Nothing about that tweet makes any sense.
But I'd cast my net on her other side, kiss the other cheek, let my cock crow, and love her as I loved myself.

Shes throwing shade at Joel Osteen and the prosperity gospel

quote:
Prosperity theology (sometimes referred to as the prosperity gospel, the health and wealth gospel, the gospel of success, or seed faith)[A] is a religious belief among some Christians, who hold that financial blessing and physical well-being are always the will of God for them, and that faith and positive speech will increase one's material wealth.[1] Prosperity theology views the Bible as a contract between God and humans: if humans have faith in God, he will deliver security and prosperity.[2]
The doctrine emphasizes the importance of personal empowerment, proposing that it is God's will for his people to be blessed. It is based on interpretations of the Bible that are mainstream in Judaism (with respect to the Hebrew Bible),[3] though less so in Christianity. The atonement (reconciliation with God) is interpreted to include the alleviation of sickness and poverty, which are viewed as curses to be broken by faith. This is believed to be achieved through donations of money, visualization, and positive confession.

Someone should remind her that sloth & envy are two of the seven deadly sins, two traits quite common among social justice circles.

I read it a few times and I don't know what she's trying to say. The rich are the only ones loving Bible messages now? Or something?
Maybe taking a potshot at the prosperity gospel televangelists?

I'm thinking she's talking about illegal immigrants and those of us Christians who are opposed to it.
My liberal atheist sister n law has thrown this in my face many times.

Seems pretty obvious: she's pushing back against the so-called "prosperity gospel". "Christians" fetishizing the military and material wealth seems, to some people, like the exact opposite of WJWD.

I read that as a statement against the prosperity gospel.

These people are being paid off. Moore has always been a money-grubbing fraud, anyway. I don't watch it, but she's always appearing on James Robison's 30-minute infomercial, I mean, program. Robison is another money-grubbing phony. He's always running promotions about digging water wells and helping poor people in Africa. But if you freeze-frame the credits at the end of his "show," it says that donations can be used for any purpose, and not necessarily for what they've promoted on the show.
Most of these televangelists are simply con artists. Benny Hinn, Jesse Duplantis, Joel O'Steen, etc. Beth Moore, sadly, is no exception.

The gospel is bad news to the morally depraved who just happen to be poor.

Aren't Christians by definition supposed to be SJWs? It's only since the advent of these mega church right wing prosperity gospel douches (who are often having gay or straight affairs, sometimes on meth, while rolling the membership) that the opposite is true among some of you.

Yup. I'm firmly on team Osteen. Incidentally, Trump's childhood preacher Norman Vincent Peele taught a version of the prosperity gospel that resonated with DJT

No. American Christianity has always been mostly conservative. This latest trend towards SJW activism has more to do with their financial gain from refugee placement, etc as it does their blasphemous interpretation of the scriptures

I have a liberal atheist sister n law who has had 3 abortions and she preaches to me and the wife about how we are unloving as Christians because we aren't for illegal immigration.
I'm pretty sure this Beth Moore quote is aimed at us.

Snake oil just like all the rest.

That's where your ignorance is showing. Joel Osteen is a sugar daddy on seeking arrangement by the way, some hero you have there.

Show me with citation where in the Bible Jesus talks about and supports government controlled means of production, forced wealth redistribution, victim hierarchies, or persecution based on speech.
Jesus was against pretty much everything the SJWs stand for.
