Unrealistic expectations for Coach O (from some folks)?
Saban's 5 LSU seasons:
8-4
10-3
8-5
13-1
9-3
Yeah, O might beat that.

You're a bad reporter.
The state and image of the program pre Saban does not equal the program that O inherited even if CLM left holes in the roster.
This is coming from an O apologist too btw.

Very true. But the results in 2002 and 2004 left a lot to be desired. That team Saban took to Blacksburg to open the '02 season was one of the sorriest, poorest prepared teams LSU has ever had to open a season.
The Alabama 2011 to present Saban is NOT the LSU Saban.

The O apologists are dumb as rocks. Please stop comparing Saban and O. Saban is the best college coach ever and has sodomized O every time they have met on the field. In his five years at LSU, Saban resurrected a perennial loser and won two SEC titles and an NC. O has won nothing. Stop. Saban was a better coach than O at every point in his career.

Of course he’s gotten better, over time, but if he stayed here there’s no reason to think he wouldn’t have done similar things, but this trying to compare the situation ls like they should be exactly alike is beyond stupid. LSU was trytto build a program Alabama was in a much better starting point. But his first year at Bama was worse than any year he had at LSU, you know what that means? NOTHING His 4th year there was his 2nd worst, the only year besides the first the only year he lost more than 1 game in the regular season

You’re missing the point. Saban doesn’t give a crap about the record the first couple of years. He is recruiting like crazy, building the statewide and region wide networks, building relationships with coaches, getting facility improvements funded. He’s also establishing the culture, running off idiots like the Bootys, and building the business ethic he is known for.
The reason you think he’s a different guy since 2011 is because that’s when he was getting the program established. Had he stayed at LSU for five more years we would have turned into a championship factory just like Bama.

This is something I’d expect someone under 25 to say. 2002 we didn’t have the depth and too many injuries. Still almost win the west.
2004 we got creamed at UGA in a double revenge spot. The other loss was at Auburn, who went undefeated, on a penalty that was literally only called that 1 time and on a Hail Mary in a bowl after he quit and probably shouldn’t have been coaching in the first place.

Now list the records and recruiting rankings for the 5 years before Saban took over, and then the same for the 5 years before O took over.

No. Pissing on Coach O while he is building a top-10 program is beyond stupid. The Nega-Tigers were dead wrong about O, and now they're trying to save face by slamming a damn good HC. Pathetic!

Keep kissing Saban's rear end.

Look I think comparing O's tenure to Saban's is idiotic, but that's a hell of a lot of spinning you're doing for Saban's 2004 season. He got his arse kicked by UGA, plain and simple. No excuses for getting blown out by 30, "revenge game" or not. I also don't see how the Auburn loss is any different than say the A&M loss for us this year. And that hail mary was 100% on him. LSU had a timeout to spare, the defenders were completely out of position pre-snap, and Saban was left holding his nuts. And we won't even talk about the gift of God he got with Oregon State's kicker shitting all over himself kicking extra points or him squeaking by 4-7 Ole Miss. At the end of the day, 3 losses are 3 losses. If we hold Orgeron to a certain standard with no excuses, we should hold other coaches to that same standard. That 2004 season was unacceptable coming off a national championship season.

We will see whether he builds a top 10 program or not but the only one trying to slam a damn good coach is you with this pathetic troll. Where LSU was when Saban for here is totally different.
But once again we see the pathetic insecure O fans starting threads like this, which accomplish nothing but forcing people to point out the flaws in your comparison.
Only time will tell how Orgeron does as a HC at maintaining a program

Yeah man, you are right. No difference between the LSU Saban took over compared to the LSU O took over.

No because he gets away with more shite at Alabama than he eve could have at LSU. We don't have our own Deep State apparatus in the SEC and NCAA.

What a childish response. I guess if it makes you feel better to think he didn’t do that great of a job here go right ahead.

I’m not making excuses” for losing to Georgia. I was just breaking down the losses. Why does everyone think a bad or big loss is some kind of gotcha? He just lost a game by 28. It fricking happens. My only point is it is lazy and foolish to just look at the record and pas judgment on the season without looking at what happened. He got smashed at UGA and damn near beat the team that finished #2 both on the road. I don’t care about the bowl game because he had already quit and imo should not have been coaching it in the first place. Think the players were fired up for that game after a NC with a lame duck coach, but he STILL almost won.
One otjer thing about 2004 is the depth wasn’t quite there yet either. The 03 and 04 recruiting classes were epic but still young. If Saban was staying we don’t know if the bowl results would be different but I think the next 3 years would have been outstanding maybe even better than the 3 top 5 finishes

I’m just gonna go ahead and go on the record as saying that Orgeron is not a “damn good HC” until he wins a championship. Until then, he is nothing more than an adequate coach keeping status quo.
