Crisp boudin from the grill is Nirvana. I wonder if a quick dip in a 350 degree bath would produce a similar crisp texture?

That sounds like an explosion waiting to happen.
Albeit, a delicious explosion.

I’m thinking prick the casing to release pressure and fry just until heated/crisp casing.
Non casing eaters can just move to the side.

Yes I have fried it before, very fine line between perfection and shutting down the fryer to clean up the explosive debris.

Hmm this might work well in an air fryer.

I would think timing would be important.

They’re called boudin balls.

Bellue's on Scenic Hwy sells fried whole links in addition to regular & smoked.
The owner normally offers customers a piece of fried boudin while they wait in line.

There’s a truck stop in plain dealing that sells whole links fried like you would a ball. Never tried them though. Assuming they take the casing off then batter

Gas station at 19 and 10 that fried links whole. They’re not bad but it’s my least favorite kind of boudin.

The Exxon station just west of I-49 in Natchitoches has battered fried Boudin links. They're not the best thing I've ever had, but they aight.
They're fried chicken livers are amazing.
