Who does he root for?

If you can inexplicably scramble out of a sure sack then throw a 75 yard TD side-arm like a shortstop, the voters will find you a narrative for MVP and excuse your losses, your game-winning-drive-choke or your 5 turnover game.
Just accept that it's never been about the stats, team wins, or the QBR.
It's only about the WOW moments from big arms in big plays and will conveniently use stats or team wins or QBR to justify their bias for WOW arms.

They might. No way to really know. Their defense is full of bums. Looks all-time Saints bad. If you can't get the ball to those weapons on offense then it's not going to matter anyway. They might win a few games but the point is that team would be really bad without him.

I dont entirely agree with using defensive rankings as a catalyst for why Mahomes has had a greater degree of difficulty for being MVP because it disregards context.
Time of Possession is one of the most pivotal stats in football. It is not sexy but it is a common sense stat that dictates the outcomes of games.
KC is 24th in NFL at it. We have seen first hand with previous Saint teams that if you always score quickly and dont take clock off the board your defense will gas and leak quite frequently.
Complimentary football is never mentioned during MVP talks but it is one of the most important aspects in regards to winning games along with turning the ball over and not giving the opposition short fields.

Case in point would be Aarron Rodgers with the post you made here. Somehow that guy is still mentioned in the same sentence as Brady/Brees and many actually pick him at least on par with Brady. The guy has done nothing but had 1 SB ages ago with one season he got hot at the end. He's extremely inconsistent his entire career. He sucked this year. Plain and simple. You see a ton of games where Rodgers plays like dog shite for almost 4 quarters and he gets hot the last few minutes throwing an amazing Failmary and the media slobs all over his knob.
Dude is so overrated because he can make throws Brady/Brees can't.

You guys are way too easy to troll on this board. You're sensitive to everything. I've been joking about Brees. I don't dislike him at all. I actually think you can make a strong argument he's up there as an all-time great top 5 discussion. I think Brady is slightly better than him but you can still make a strong argument for Brees.
I'm just telling you what the media favors they're going to get and they want Mahomes right now. If media changes their tone tomorrow then Brees has a real shot. Until then, it's Mahomes.
I mean career with Brady/Brees because Brees is definitely better than Brady right now. I think Brady is breaking down at the end of the season. Body can't hold up.

Then the Saints without Brees could also be 0-15, so now what?

Brees had his 49th game winning drive today. Mahomes lost. Brees is the MVP

That's passer rating. Qbr: Mahomes 81.4, brees 81.2
To be honest though, doubt they even look at metrics like these. Bet they just look at TD passes where mahomes has a big lead.

QBR is the ESPN stat and it favors QBs that can run

And lost 3 of 5 down the stretch. People who’ve been shitting on Brees forget that NE, LA, and KC have all choked in the same stretch.

Let’s not forget that Mahomes actually cost KC 2 losses with his turnovers. It’s crazy how much that is overlooked in this debate.

Remember that time Drew Brees had the greatest statistical season in NFL history but didn’t win the MVP because of Aaron Rodgers ungodly QBR and TD/INT stats?
Know who’s leading the NFL in both and about to break his own insane completion % record?
Can’t wait to hear how stats are important this year.
