I just don't get because we all heard how 25 was the hard cap, period. Obviously, it's not so simple and it's above me.. but geez.. This really sucks.

No hard cap. That was grossly misreported by the LSU recruiting "experts". There are still article out there with this misinformation. It's ridiculous.
LSU's number would be 27 if we hadn't taken Alexander and Burrow as transfers, and would be 29 if we hadn't taken Giles and Moss the year before (although I bet if we had more room last year, we would have taken Goodrich, while also holding a spot for Surtain).
