I talked with someone who used to be an asst. manager there, he told me that they don't make the sauce they buy it from someone in New Orleans. I just buy it by the cup from them.

re: Just made a pot of Bud's Broiler Smoke Sauce
what's the deal with Bud's? any good?

i remember seeing it on my old Liberty Card in the early 1990's when i was in BR. Also, i drive by one on Jefferson Hwy in Jefferson, LA every day but i never stop b/c it's not feeding time. Is it worth a go order to try it out? if so, what should i try?

To me, Bud's is fantastic drunk food, the one on Clearview in Metairie stays open 24 hours....

However, it's pretty good for lunch as well...

Gotta get the cheese fries too with a side of sauce...

I haven't had one in years. They use to be great. Best fast food burger without a doubt. The ones in new orleans/metairie always had the grunge going on.

hm, i work in Elmwood and drive home to the city down Jefferson...so i am near multiple locations. We order out for lunch every single day and nobody has ever suggested Bud's. Maybe i should toss out that name.

It's so easy, you would be amazed.
1 part ketchup
1 part can tomato sauce
chili power and liquid smoke to taste.

In Fl though, "to taste" may not help, so try this.
I used 12oz can of tom sauce, 12oz ketchup, 1.5 tbl of chili powder and 2 tbl of liquid smoke.
Pretty much dead on.

I would go with a #2 (smoke sauce) or #4 (smoke sauce or chili and cheese) with onions...cheese fries with smoke sauce...chocolate shake.

You wont have to eat for the rest of the day.

#4 with smoke sauce...gotta have that shredded cheddar on it mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

El tig...it's not so much the burger, imo, it's the sauce and cheese that make it. You aren't going to be getting a Riverside Patty-sized hunk of meat or anything. It's a really good diner type of burger.

#4 smoke sauce no onions, chili cheese fries, and a large coke. Excellent unhealthy meal. Get a chocolate shake for the drive home.

Damn I always thought it wasn't about the sauce

Bud's was about the charcoal fired pit.
